It hasn’t happened yet because LSU is poor and can’t afford to spend that kind of money, but to say that someone wouldn’t come here for $500 million a year is smooth brain shite right there.

I think you’re taking the LSU losses this year a bit too hard if you think the LSU brand is so untouchable for an elite coordinator that infinite money would not be enough to work here.

LSU brand
Coach O doesn't equal the LSU brand. Elite coaches not willing to work for/with O doesn't mean elite coaches not willing to or hire into the LSU brand. You can't seem to be able to separate the difference of the two.

You’re right. Allow me to rephrase that:

Coach O is one of the most likable people in not only the SEC, but in the NCAA. Media, players and coaches love him and he has proven that working with him can open up doors for your career.

The sky is not falling. LSU will be okay, and we will hire elite coordinators, and guess what, it won’t take unlimited money.
Relax, and enjoy the other things (hopefully) going on in your life.

If O is so well liked then why aren't elite coordinators lining up to come coach under him at LSU?

Outside of Joe Brady, what coaches have catapulted their careers by working with O?
Yet on the other hand, Nick Saban is known to be difficult to work for & elite coaches have lined up to be on his staff for several years now. Many of those coaches have cashed in those opportunities into promotions elsewhere.

Dave Aranda

he has it made where he is now..and in clemson his money goes further then in BR perhaps. Either way I bet he has been offered good money to leave before.

We could go after Jim Leonard(runs same D as Aranda) or Jimmy Lake (runs a 4-3 hybrid). Either would be good hires

Clemson benefits from a weak schedule every year.

Playing a weak schedule benefits you in the playoffs because you aren’t in the weekly grind of the SEC, dealing with injuries and fatigue. You can rest your starters mid-way through cupcake games.

I’ve never heard about O being some super likable guy but you may be right. He doesn’t come across that way but I have no idea what his peers think of him.
I don’t disagree that a coordinator can be hired at any price, of course they can but O’s brand isn’t anywhere close to LSU’s brand. O’s brand is also taking on water because other than 2019 he really doesn’t have a great resume as a head coach. Add the recruiting whispers and he doesn’t have much to sell when his ship is looking unstable.
Right now O appears closer to a Chiznik than he does a coach rising to the top. That alone would likely prevent top notch DC’s from wanting to hitch their wagon to his.
