You can throw one of them. Regionals don’t start until Next weekend (Friday)

You are dead wrong. There is only one circumstance, but there is one. Jump on Sunday after four days rest could save the championship with an inning he would have pitched anyway in his standard bullpen. That logic is inescapable. You are wrong.

It would be malpractice for them to pitch again in this tournament.

I’m ok with having m shutting them down and understand that. But shouldn’t there be someone in the department monitoring games around the country? Say a couple teams in front of us lose, and winning a possible Sunday game propels us ahead of them to host a regional, wouldn’t you you take the gamble and start them?

No team has ever hosted a regional with a losing conference regular season record. Look at LSU 2010 for example. It would be stupid to pitch them Sunday with regionals starting Friday.

The risk of injury Penrod is too big. The reward is too small.

Let’s be clear, the only one that knows this is Jay.

There is no special risk of injury in sending out Jump to do what he would have done anyway in his scheduled bullpen session - throw 15 pitches.
