Actually, that is not true. And I thought for the longest time it was true too.
Does muscle weigh more than fat?

It's implied that it weighs more by equal volume. 2nd or 3rd sentence of your link.
1 lb. = 1 lb.
1 cubic inch of muscle weighs more than 1 cubic inch of fat.

WTF is your problem? You never have anything good to say about the team. EVER.
I love LSU to the core. I was stating that to you in a non abrasive way that he won't be able to get to that high of a weight in a few weeks....his body type is a specimin of health that naturally doesn't hold alot of fat. Now he's in 2-a-days in 100 degree weeather. "need to chill" was referencing that it isn't going to be a problem for him to just flip some switch and gain 25 plus pounds and be the same athletically.
Feel better?

How many calories will he have to eat to gain weight while practicing in this nasty arse heat?
Posted on 8/3/12 at 7:54 am to Slickback
About 3500 calories = 1 lb.
But considering that he will be using most of those calories for energy, he will need to eat more than 3500 per day to gain weight and still play at a high level

a frickload. at least 5000 if he wants to gain weight WHILE going to practice. it really is a challenge to do, i had to put on weight to switch from OLB to ILB in hs. you have to eat ALL frickING DAY, even when you're not hungry. just stuff your face basically.
of course, i tried to do it without fast food. probably would have been a hell of a lot easier

Is there a link to this interview/ press conference where Les said this?

Mingo probably burns close to 3000 calories a day by just breathing add in two to three hours of intense work outs and to breakeven he would need to consume close to 5000 calories.

I could eat 5000 calories per day with no problem.
2 chick-fil-a milkshakes and we are at about 2200.

What surgery did he have exactly?

Does muscle weigh more than fat?
What is his point?
Here is a listing of densities of various substances. Animal and vegetable fats have densities of about 0.9, whereas muscle, which is mostly water would have a density of 1.0 or slightly higher since it also has electrolytes, proteins, etc.

He'll be fine playing at that weight, he's already strong, so the lack of bulk just keeps him fast. He will be a beast any way it goes.

considering muscle weighs more than fat, and that dude doesn't have much fat, it's not unthinkable to think he lost a little weight to surgery.
Perhaps I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that 12 lbs of muscle weighs the same as 12 lbs of fat???

He really has the frame and the speed of a rush OLB for the NFL. Given our lack of experienced depth at OLB, surprised Miles has not moved him their. IMO, that is the position he will excel at in the NFL.

When he hits the NFL I believe he will be like JPP
Posted on 8/3/12 at 12:40 pm to Captain Crown
Yeah he's a 3-4 OLB ideally in the NFL, so he won't have to really bulk up too much to be ready there. He could be a 4-3 DE, but would have to be at the least 250

Yes, and 12 lbs of lead weighs as much as 12 lbs of feathers, but it's obvious that he meant "density", i.e weight divided by volume. I'm sure you would agree that 1 cubic inch of lead weighs much more than 1 cubic inch of feathers.
