Dale's teams overachieve
The biggest issue is that the football program is they are not "overachieving". We have as good if not better talent as any program in America. Our players have been under-utilized (not finding ways to get Shep the ball) or misused (JJ was never an option QB).
The football team needs to find an identity on offense and go with it. We went from being a pass heavy team with JaMarcus and Flynn to a power run team with JJ and Lee. I'm all for adjusting to the talent you have, but consistency will bring you the talent you need to be successful.

LOL, only one problem with your post, Les Miles has actually WON something ! Les has gotten to the final game twice and is 1 and 1, dale got to the final game ZERO times and is 0 and 0 !
you probably claim to be an LSU fan and you know nothing about BBall and LSU.
You are totally ignorant.

Coach Brown is the only SEC coach to have appeared in 15 straight national tournaments and is the second winningest coach in SEC history surpassed only by Kentucky’s legendary Adolph Rupp. 105 of 160 of Brown’s players received their college degrees.
Brown and Rupp are the only SEC coaches that had 17 consecutive non-losing seasons and Brown was the only coach in the nation to have ever increased his number of victories six years in a row from 1976-81. From 1977-1986, LSU is the only school that finished in the first division of the conference. The 1981 LSU team is the only team in SEC history to win 17 consecutive league games in one season. Only three coaches in SEC history, Adolph Rupp, Joe Hall and Tubby Smith won more conference championships than LSU’s Brown. Brown and Rupp are the only two SEC coaches that won the conference championship in three different decades. Only six SEC coaches have led their teams to two Final Fours or more. They are Dale Brown, Billy Donovan, Joe Hall, Rick Pitino, Nolan Richardson and Adolph Rupp.

I've thought the very same thing. Our moronic fans have jock lust for ahole Saban just like they did for ahole Knight. Instead of being proud of their team and coach, they constantly minimize their accomplishments relatively to these other jerks. They kind of remind me of hillbilly wife beaters; losers in life and take out their frustrations on their spouse, blaming her for their own failures.
Guys who don't what an X or O is regularly complain that Les & Dale don't know theirs. Both had LSU at the pinnacle, but somehow did it not knowing their Xs & Os. Yeah, right. Les and Dale both whipped many and X & O hero along the way at their own games.
I still can't get over how our idiot fans take what a jerk like Knight says negatively about OUR coach and uses it as some crazy justification for their own self hatred.
No, neither were perfect, so spare us the 'yeah but' retorts, but they're the very best we've ever had and we should be proud of what they did for LSU.

Good comments
I, like many others have had my frustration with Les Miles, but to be a part of a school that has established national prominence and provided some exciting finishes through the years makes for lasting memories.
I was fortunate to have had season tickets in the Dale Brown years and to look back and be a part of some of the incredible wins that LSU had is something I have always cherished.
My wife and I currently live outside the Omaha, Nebraska area and seeing the discontent and frustration that the Cornhuskers fans are experiencing these last few years makes us glad to be Tiger fans.

Anyone else see the similarity?
I wish Miles would ask Glen Guilbeau the same question Dale asked Billy Reed of the Louisville Courier-Journal:
"Have you ever masturbated ?"

As is many times the case, fans don't know what they have until the coach is gone.
Dale may have not won the big one but got us in position to go to the big game. Basketball in Baton Rouge was really fun under Dale Brown. Still trying to get back to that success.

The basketball games in the 80's were a blast. Nothing better than a wednesday night game to break up the school week.

He had them for one year. Shaq was very raw as a frosh. In fact, he had trouble staying on the court because of foul trouble. Roberts had a great touch, but spent most of the season 30 pounds overweight. Dale actually benched him because he would not work it off. roberts was also in his first year.
Jackson was Jackson but he was a true 2 guard, not a point. He also had trouble with his illness medicalion throughout the season. That team lost in the tourny to another team with NBA talent. Do the names Kenny Anderson, Dennis Scott, and Brian Oliver ring a bell? Pretty good team there.
Can easily make the same excuses for Les's players. shite, just look at all the off the field issues he had this year. Every year they have all sorts of problems but Les continues to win.

As you know, far less than the 3 or 4 championships predicted by the players and coach.
Try none.

All you need to know about Dale Brown is the quote from Bobby Knight in the 87 final four regarding Dale Brown:
I was worried about losing until I looked down the floor and saw Dale Brown. Then I knew we had a chance. ~ Bob Knight.

First off, it wasn't in the final four. It was a regional final. You should try to get your hands on a copy of that game and watch it. Knight's behavior would make your head explode. That game, in my mind, was one of the greatest frick jobs in LSU history.

The only similarity i see is this: both are subpar in game coaches.
Remember that quote by Bobby Knight? "I was worried about losing until I looked down the floor and saw Dale Brown. Then I knew we had a chance."
yea. i could totally hear Saban saying that on 9 January.

I don't have an agenda. Dale Brown has long since been gone as the LSU head coach. Exactly what kind of agenda would I have? There is nothing to be gained or lost at this point. This quote is reality. Bobby Knight said this. With the talent on Dale Brown's teams, LSU should have won several championships and they didn't. That is just a fact of life.

I have watched that game and Bobby Knight outcoached Dale Brown the entire game.
I never said Bobby Knight wasn't an a-hole but you can't deny that he was an a-hole that knows how to win basketball games.
