Do his “off the field” shenanigans with student workers have any bearing on his candidacy?
He’s not eligible because LSU booster gave Vidal Alexander’s father almost 200k. They retroactively stripped LSU of all wins between 2012 and 2015, putting Les below the threshold of consideration.
Ironically if he had not tried to give coaching another go at Kansas he still would have had it.

Agree that he should 'sneak' in.
CLM achilles heel was that he refused to change when the RPO quarterbacks started lighting up CFB. Saban was the same but he figured it out sooner. He wouldn't let go of his mentor's (Bo Schembeckler) mantra of 'three yards and a cloud of dust'. Big running backs with bigger linemen in front.

Les loves him some Les though to sue LSU like he did because he was upset about not meeting the criteria for the HOF then when the wins were vacated. I mean, you'd think that he would have let things go considering that the accusations that came with his firing probably really hurt his family. But no, he sued LSU
Good point, I mean he had to know doing that would bring everything back up - if you think about it - I gotta agree, with you - that seems a not so noble reason - and from all that was reported that was the reason for the suit - to get his wins back to get in to the HOF.

not sure if any of the allegations against him were ever substantiated but there a ton of bigger sleaze bags in the HoF ahead of him, proven sleaze bags

Wrong. He is eligible.

Not sure if they were either but I was hearing things years before it came out so I actually was not surprised when it did come out. Nevertheless, that was not my point it was his motivation to sue one would have thought may have been to clear his name but it seemed to by all accounts and the language of the suit itself to be about getting in the HOF. Conclude what you will from that, I have my own as stated.

every single LSU coach in my lifetime, with the exception of Cholly Mac, has had those rumors swirling around them, and some were substantiated

Does the rule apply solely to Leach?

Les Miles Allegations/Order to Pay Victim
No, I'm sure he definitely wouldn't be the only sleazeball to enter the HOF. He was an idiot though not to listen to LSU when they told him to stop messing around with college students. And it was a bad look for him to bring all of this back up with little consideration to his wife and family when he did.

I have no idea to what extent the little room atop Voodoo was a non-stop orgie or not.....that really wasn't my point, but since it keeps coming up - yes i heard things about some of the other coaches....not all, but none surprised me more than Les when I heard about them and especially the details I heard. How true? No clue. But enough to say a lot of smoke for there to be no fire.

big part of why Schloss left TCU, they told him to cut it out and he said adios

Mack Brown is in, but Pete Carroll isn't. Meyer & Saban get in Dec. 9th.
Larry Coker isn't in has a record of 86-47 (.6466)

National Championship alone!

Pete Carroll isn’t eligible either, didn’t coach for 10 years
Larry Coker is probably comparable to Les. I’d assume neither get in

I completely disagree. He set the program back and defense got him to where he was successful. The guy gets too much credit.

I sure did hate his bone headed mistakes but I do miss the days of LSU football under Les Miles, especially the first half of his tenure here. That following the Nick Saban era was the golden age.
Little did we know it was the golden age of the entire sport. God dammit I know it’s part nostalgia but I really miss what college football was then.
