That's because you did. No offense, and I enjoyed your story, but why would you do this to your son? For the rest of his life he's going to have to explain over and over and over how to spell his name and correct people for next 70 years

Haydn is an excellent, erudite name. I dig it. I assume you are a pianist, or a fan of classical piano. Haydn was a giant.

Haydn is correct. Crack a book. Just kidding. He will have to correct people. Guess that's why he like to go by Porkchop.

McCoy, Thanks for sharing the story about your son and Les' encouragement to him. Prayer for Haydn.

On your first visit go to smile.amazon.com and search for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children or tax ID 88-6006790, to select us as your charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. AmazonSmile will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make on AmazonSmile will result in a donation to our children!!

To the OP: I used to visit my grandmother in your hometown in the 1950's. I had to take a bath in a wash tub on the back porch. I remember her getting her first wringer washing machine. She lived on Sycamore Street.

Good luck to your son!

Can we seriously get some way to identify folks who downvote or make some way for them to justify a downvote? I just can't fathom what would cause someone to downvote this OP.

As an add-on about St. Jude's: My brother-in-law was born with Down's Syndrome and has a lot of other medical issues in his life. I won't give the long story on this, but my wife and her family credit St. Jude's for the fact that he is alive and blessing our family each day. That place will forever have a special place in our hearts and we only hope that others will continue to give so that they can continue the incredible work that they do.

Those with any "chest" and "want" would rather win with this great man than any other alternative. He may do some of the head scratchiest things you've seen on the field, but he is *genuinely* a good person. This story doesn't make it anywhere out of your household if you didn't post it on TD.com. How many coaches would have the balls to kick TM7 off the team that year, a year we were expecting to win the Natty? Not many, but the man doesn't flinch. He's stubborn as a mule, but he doesn't flinch when it comes to doing right by his players.

Still think Haydn is a crackerjack name, esp. if he is a musician. Be well, and let him know folks are pulling for him.

Les is as good of an ambassador for LSU and college football then we could have ever asked for when we hired him.
