Granted, the new guy is much skinnier and paler than you so you're not really worried a lot but still very curious. I'm not at all worried he will be more successful there than he was here, like another Saban situation, but I am very curious about how he will do there. Of course I'm going to still watch his every move. How can I, as an LSU fan, not?

He was with LSU for so long and even though his last few years here were pretty frustrating I still have very fond memories of him. He provided lots of great memories and prolonged the success we found under Saban for much longer than anyone thought he would.

It's like when you break up with a girl and you both agree to remain friends but never really do, except this time we really will remain friends. I wish him nothing but the best there at Kansas and I really, truly hope he learned from his mistakes at LSU and turns their program around.

No its not. I have zero internal curiosities about Miles coaching Kansas.

ETA - why the downvotes? Miles did some good things at LSU and now two years later I wish him success at Kansas. To compare this with an ex is creepy.

...except you are happy to be without your ex, and you are paying her alimony. Now, with the new marriage, your alimony stops and you are finally free to wish her the best and remember the good times.

Except here, LSU is the old dude, and the fat girl is O.

Sadly, O is not an upgrade. He's just a different coach, but your analogy is spot on. I really liked Miles too, but happy we moved on from him.

If you're an LSU fan and your thoughts on Miles go any further than this, then you likely did not enjoy the longest run of success our program has ever had...and that makes me sad for you.

Good luck to the guy. We have our own fish to fry now that he's gone...

Naw

LSU is the boyfriend who dumped Miles (girlfriend) and we thought we got someone better, but she's (coach O) a worse looking version of your ex who were trying to make it work cause shes saying the right things for now, but you know down the road its going to be an ugly ending.

I really, for the life of me, don't get why so many seem so hung up on it. I don't wish the guy any ill will, but I don't give two shits about what he really does at Kansas either. I can't see myself having any real emotion about it, one way or the other - if he does great, or falls flat on his face. My suspicion is, it will fall somewhere in the middle, but that's about as much as I really intend to contemplate on the matter.

Very few things suck worse than a coach/ex-girlfriend metaphor.

Nah, it's actually like he was a football coach who wouldn't/couldn't change his old school style of play, and got fired!
