Even when we beat cupcakes on our schedule I felt worn out watching games under les. Nothing like being up 12-6 at halftime against Arkansas st.

Same offensive approach to the overtime game against Kentucky that year. Running Charles Scott up the middle on 4th down and not getting it. Losing to Andre Woodson and Jacob Tamme when they had nothing else compared to our loaded team was inexcusable.

Remember when we did it like 4-5 straight times against Georgia in the first half of the Georgia Game...not all of those were 4th and short, some were third and short, but failed EVERY TIME.

Our defense and special teams broke their will in the second have and the Dawgs quit, but it was a huge blinking sign that many chose to dismiss or ignore at the time, bur as we would come to see was what Les wanted to be. Mine's bigger and I'm going to show you.

Usually worked when it actually was bigger and we were just more talented, which was the case 90% of the time. Didn't work as well when talent was comparable or on the rare occasions when we just were not as talented.

Agreed.

Although some really did hate him early on, as early as that Tennessee debacle as one poster stated earlier.

Others jumped ship after the utterly stupid decision to go with the 2 headed monster as DC in 2008. That was quite embarrassing.

A lot more after 1/9/12.

I probably didn't jump ship until 2014/2015. I was definitely not happy when reports of him being fired in 2015 didn't actually happen.

No "we" didn't.
I never respected him from the first game against Tennessee.

He started with Mercedes and left it a VW beatle.
If you are happy, I'm happy for you. You should never be disappointed.
I've watched LSU for about sixty years so I'm accustomed to Miles style of coaching. Charley Mac to Dinardo.
I'll turn 78 tomorrow, thanks Coach O for showing all fans what we have been capable of achieving before I pass.

Him leaving Jefferson in the NC game and not giving Lee or even Mettenberger an opportunity was the end for Les with me. There was absolutely no excuse not to put Lee in the second half..

Miles blamed an thumb injury as why he didn't play Mett at media days later that year, but Mett said he didn't have a thumb injury...

frick Miles he refused to change and when you refuse to change. change will be forced upon you...

I quite honestly was never on board. I never bought the bumbling and mumbling and incoherent nonsense was a Columbo-like schtick, I thought and still do to this day...what you saw was who he was.

I thought he had some tremendous good fortune his first 6 years - it's been hashed over many times

But I will say he managed to keep the program at a level in his time here that I did not think him capable of, I have strong theories as to why, but I'll leave it as give Les credit for that and thank him for his service.

The 2007 Florida game was very exciting and a great memory. Thanks for that one Les. Wonder if any of you folks still have the big ball squirrels are whatever it was they were handing out to represent Les after that game.

I thought this was about the 5 for 5 recruiting "debacle" that actually worked out great for us. nonetheless, I was there in TS that night and it was great. I will always love Les. Left a little to be desired towards the end, but was always a class act.

Les was a very likable man and coach the first half of his LSU tenure but the second half was absolutely miserable and full of disappointments. I'm happy to have had him from 2005-2011 but after 1/9/12 I was off the Les Train for good.

Happy he was at LSU but I don't miss him at all, honestly.

Dude, if you weren't fired up and glad he was our coach after that Florida game, then you are some kind of pissy fan. Did you watch that game?

We’re you fired up the following week?

True. Couple of those were ALL Hester and his effort

Certainly didn’t fool anyone lol

Hester tells the story how he walked out and told the Florida D we were gonna run the same play a few more times, then frickin did it and smashed their shite in.

Les running Hester up the middle on 4th down 5 times actually shows how unimaginative he was/is. Don't give Les the credit on this. It all goes to Hester. He made a poor coach look good on that night.

Except Hester didn’t even touch the ball on three of the five 4th down attempts, one of which was a touchdown pass.

But by all means, carry on perpetuating the Mandela effect

Miles appears to be a good person who knows.

He did a lot of things well so just completely dismissing him is unfair, good recruiter, coaches seemed to like him. He inherited a tremendous roster that lead to 05-07 consecutive top 5 rankings in the final poll. Decayed some but quickly built again. the 2011 team that was as good as any. 10-12 were pretty darn good teams all his.

He had shortcomings in philosophy and mostly in game management. It was time for a change but he deserves respect. Left some holes but kept the program in good shape. I lived through Curley, trust me The Miles’ years overall were good.
