Yes he will.

This guy may be right, but most of his reasoning can be used against all of the candidates.

2. Sooner or later, Fournette will be stopped. The punishment Fournette absorbs, whether it looks like it or not, is just as unholy as that which he delivers. He'll see eight-man defensive fronts, throughout the season, designed to stop him and put the game on the shoulders of first-year starting quarterback Brandon Harris. And they'll be much better defensive fronts than the one Syracuse fielded on Saturday. Be it against Florida, Ole Miss, or Alabama, Fournette's 20-for-50 reckoning is coming. And if it comes in a loss for the Tigers, voters will hop to a quarterback's Heisman wagon quicker than a TCU scoring drive.

I'm saying it right now. People, including some posters, are grossly under-estimating the flexibility of this team on offense when the time comes. Book it. I will have the last laugh.

I still think the win at Miss. State is huge and Miss. State could be the best team that LSU plays.

The guy from Wisconsin, Melvin Gordon, rushed for 2500 yards in 2014 and didn't win the Heisman so I can see it

10-2 Wisconsin team and Gordon didn't have near the hype of Fournette.

Mariota was putting up ridiculous numbers and was ridiculously efficient on a playoff team.

Boykin could be this year's Mariota, but If LSU rolls through the SEC with one or no losses and as an SEC champion with Fournette breaking the SEC single season rushing record (something Herschel Walker has held for 34 years), then he will no doubt win the award.

Right now, he would have to average 126.1 ypg going forward and win the SEC Championship. That's no small task, but it is something that he and LSU can accomplish.

This has not been proven yet....

Well of course somebody will probably hold him down but that would be stupid to hold it against him if he can't beat 9 or 10 in the box.

That's great, load the box with 8-9 and we'll make them play with a deep play-action pass to Dupre or Dural in the end zone. The defense will back up... then LF7 will just run all over them again.

I told you earlier how we could beat south Carolina on 8 completions. If it were not for us playing Auburn, South Carolina would have the worse rush defense in the SEC (instead it is Auburn). They are near identical both giving up at least 5.3 ypc and at least 8 TDs. They also have the second worse pass defense in the SEC. They have the 11th total and scoring offense in the SEC.

Fournette just went WAY up north to Syracuse at 11 am and put up 244 yards and 2 TDs, and should have had over 350 yards and 3 TDs had it not been for penalties.

He ran for 227 yards and 2 TDs against Auburn with 10:28 left in the third quarter, coming back to add a 1 yard TD later. He could have easily rushed for over 300 yards before the fourth quarter, and challenged for the FBS record.

In his first start last year as an inexperienced freshman, he ran for 140 yards and 2 TDs, averaging over 5 yards per carry, on the road in the swamp.

Florida's run defense is not any better than they were last year (see Tennessee), and we completed only 10 passes at 45.5% and only 110 yards.

Boykin isn't the TCU player that deserves the consideration as their best player. Josh Docston at WR is the receiving threat that makes that offense go.

So he'll play better defenses than the one who he had 244 yards against and also a 92 yard run called back? Groundbreaking stuff.

If Muschump couldn't stop him with the defense he had at Florida last year, he won't be stopped. All he needs is touches and if he is healthy, he wins it going away.

I do not disagree with that - especially after the last game.

The 12th man at A&M may pose a challenge we've never seen before.

if Tyrod Taylor can find success in the NFL, I'm sure some team or teams will take a chance on Boykin.
