This place is going to fricking implode when he rushes for less than 100 yards against Wisconsin.

He will break 2 runs on that slow Wisconsin defense for more than 100 yards

My 3 year old "could" be better than Charles Alexander, but I guess we will not know until my son actually plays in a game.

Your 3 year old was the louisiana player of the year the last 2 years and top recruit in the nation? Impressive

Hill might have been the best back we've seen at LSU. But these guys prob will never get the amount of carries Alexander had.

Nah bc I believe he will bust a big one for a TD mayb 2 and let him chill. LSU will open up some holes for him and when he hits that opening no one will catch this guy. He will bust a couple of big runs and I believe or it should satisfy the crowd and show what we really have. No way les is going to just feed him over and over though forget it. They all deserve carries but I believe with just 10 LF busts a couple big ones and possibly scores on one or 2 he's def special. With our line and their front LSU is going to rush for 200 plus yards I don't care what they do.

Jesus, people need to slow the hell down.

It's getting to the point where nothing Fournette does will live up to the hype.

Based on everything on this board, 1800 yards and 20 TDs will not be enough.

To bad he won't be here but two or three years.... He hasn't carried the ball yet, PLUS he is playing For Miles. ONE fumble and he's on the bench. AS of now. Until he can show me what Hill did here, he is just normal.

But tempering expectations = Suspect now, apparently. I agree LF is going to be a motherfricking beast, I just don't think pumping him up as the greatest RB in our history without having taken 1 snap can't lead to anything good.

Faulk and Alexander are saying this. What don't you understand? With his skillset, with his mindset and demeanor, with this loaded of a team, this loaded of an oline, this guy is going to be incredible. Barring injury, he will be a top 5 LSU RB at the very least.

Yes, and certainly their opinions on the topic have infinitely more credibility than posters on this site. That said, they are human as well, and therefore not immune to the hype and the propensity to tell pro-LSU media and audiences what they want to hear regarding the next big thing in LSU football. It is impossible for either of them to view a Fournette highlight real outside the prism of the hype and the incessant insistence that he's a once in a generation talent.

He may be incredible, win a Heisman, and leave the program as the best football player in LSU history. I hope he does and I'm confident he'll be fun to watch. All that said, the board is f*cking bonkers on the Fournette stuff. Everyone should be excited, but damnit, downshift on the hype. If he doesn't surpass Bo Jackson's athleticism and OJ Simpson's production and Archie Griffin's heisman count, the Rant collectively may seek out an abandoned plot of land and go full Jonestown out of despair.

I just think it's idiotic at best to set your expectations for a playeer at "greatest EVER" or try and stack him up with Faulk, Alexander, etc (the greatest ever). I don't understand why we can't just enjoy him for who he is and how he'll be without stacking him up against the all-time greats before he is even in on a snap. Setting yourself up for disappointment.

Exhibit A

"If he's better than, without question, one of the 2 or 3 best running backs in LSU history, I'll be happy."

Why so much hyperbole? I have seen nobody think he's going to be the greatest RB EVAH! A lot of people believe he is going to be really good. A lot of people think 1000 yards as a freshman. A lot of people think heisman hype next year, but my God are those two high of expectations from a Les Miles running back, with a ridiculous skillset? Hill ran for 740 yards and 12 TDs in only 8 games behind an oline that was young as hell with almost zero passing game. Oh, he also did that after not playing football at all (even practing) for a whole year, and beat out a 4th year junior, two third year juniors, and two sohpomores.

Not many people have gone off the deep end on the hype on here like people like you exaggerate. Most of the stuff is tongue in cheek and most of it is excitement.
