How many Saban hires have hit the road lately?
Most of them on to bigger better jobs.

Urban Meyer followed his aging mentors
He hired 80+ year old former coaches?

Was he the Rams coach in Tecmo Bowl?

Urban Meyer followed his aging mentors, and had the highest W/L percentage in modern Div 1 football when he retired.
Followed or hired?
And has O proven that he can understand a variety of viewpoints, objectives, and strategies and weave them together into a cohesive vision?

More like student body right and then left.

He followed them up like 30 years later...

It’s going to crush it in recruiting. Hey 16-18 year old kids, ignore those trophies in Alabama and Clemson’s trophy cases and instead look over here to our head coach’s 83 year old special consultant!
Learn how recruiting works. High school coaches are influencers. Guarantee he has some connections to the CA coaching circles.

...all that being said, no one said he is here for recruiting. Maybe Coach O wants to work on his "fight me" attitude or something.

People would bitch about hiring Dave Wandstadt or Jimmy Johnson. John Robinson is a fricking legend how could having his vast experience hurt LSU?

You're trying far too hard. You think Saban melds different viewpoints, strategies, approaches, etc.? He does what he does. They still run the football and play defense. When they couldn't do that against Clemson, they got slapped around. Tua and their passing were a liability, regardless of their viewpoint, strategies and approaches. Nick and his viewpoint got punked. Maybe his approach was off. Or perhaps his strategy.

I don't see anyone saying that it hurts anything. You guys are just making stuff up.
This guy's role is benign. He's got a cushy retirement gig to watch Matlock reruns on LSU's dime. Doesn't move the needle in either direction IMO.

If Tua was shot, why didn't Saban play an experienced quarterback in Hurts? He won the SEC championship for them. Did Nick actually screw it all up? He certainly didn't help.

You obviously didn’t watch that game. It had nothing to do with how Tua played. Bamas offensive line could not slow down Clemson’s defensive line all night. They lived in the Bama backfield. They may as well had already been back there when the ball was snapped.

Might bring us some legacy kids from USC. He was always a good crooter. Also always had a great running game, maybe he can help us there too, we sure need it.
