Y’all act like our fan base and media is the only one that ask these questions. For frick sake go read OSU forum, Vandy, and Arkansas. It is part of being a head coach at a winning program

No, but it seems maybe he doesn’t coach people not to swing at a pitch literally over their heads when you have a 3-2 count.

We had 5 RBIs yesterday doing all the things this board wants us to do with RISP, but because they came on a walk or FCs or SFs, no one remembers.

Please explain how you coach that out of someone

In this case, context matters. Leah is such a fricking drama queen who thrives on coming up with the negative angle on anything rather than being a creative and interesting journalist. This has been building up all season long with this bitch and I think he's tired of it. I'm tired of it and I'm just a casual observer.

The problem is the approach at the plate. We don’t really have a 2 strike approach at the plate. We swung at some bad pitches today but we also don’t shorten our swing with 2 strikes which leads to more K’s but also the occasional dinger. That will lead to more runners stranded.

Tommy has had one of the best two strike approaches I’ve honestly seen in a while

I don’t care about Leah, I’ve just been around here long enough to know that at times the media gets lazy with how they talk to coaches, especially football coaches. As a fan I want to hear them ask that kind of question.

I’m not saying Jay has to give soliloquy about it if he doesn’t want to, but as a fan base shouldn’t we want our media members representing us and asking the tough questions?

It’s not a tough question, she’s a douche who doesn’t understand the game like many in this thread. If you have three .300 hitters come up in a row, all 3 won’t get a hit 35% of the time. If you take walks and sac flies into account I’m sure it lowers the percentage to somewhere in the 20% range, but either way it’s just the game and it will happen. Guys either looked nervous or like they were trying way too hard as well. Is Jay supposed to sit there and explain that to our idiot baseball beat writer like she’s 5 or something?

If a college coach makes a face like Jay did after a question is asked, it’s probably a stupid question whether rantards agree or not. It’s embarrassing that we have some liberal UT grad wannabe-hard-hitting-journalist asking our coach dumb shite after a big win

Come on man! Leah asks the tough questions that no man would ask CJJ and she's a girl I think!

I agree. Let them ask it all.
But I give substantial margin to Jay to answer how he sees fit, even if it isn’t the answer the fans want to hear

Y’all are giving her credit for asking the same dumb question that’s being asked around here. It’s still dumb when it comes from a media member.

You want a tough question? Ask him if he has plans to play Nippolt more often?

Why didn't Leah ask CJJ AGAIN about the terrible decision of pitching Paul Skenes against Tulane???

If it were just about this one game then o would agree with you. The RISP issue has been ongoing for about 6 weeks at this point. It’s a fair question.

2. Answer the question with bullshite coach speak - half the fans are pissed

Except there's a fair amount of the fanbase (see the gameday threads) that have noticed a trend and are pissed about it. As a CEO, you should at least acknowledge the obvious, however vague you want to be about the specifics.

That’s certainly a tactic coaches use…

But the narrative of our season has been guys that can hit XBH.

Sometimes teams have an identity that you live and die by.

Watching DBU, they frickin swing out of their cleats . Every hitter. 1-9
It’s worked thus far
