Football players, including college players, have been going out the week before games for DECADES.

Heck, there were reports that Johnny Manziel (SEC Heisman trophy winner) even flew to Vegas the night before a game to gamble and wore a fake mustache to try and disguise himself.

Hypocritical.

Dickson was an absolute fiend for a party in college. Granted I never saw him in a bar but he didn’t skip a house party.

What a stud! Especially doing this before beating Bama!

Oh wait….

To be fair, Mett was great in that 2012 game. We should have won that, but Les didn't go for the kill and left the door open for a heartbreaking loss.

Didn’t they play on a 13-1 team that lost the nc?

Yeah couldn’t get the ball past the 50 yard line it was pathetic.

Well you said they didn’t win anything. They won the sec that year and had an undefeated regular season

People only make this an issue when you aren’t winning

Exactly. And that’s why it SHOULD be an issue. Some players have enough natural talent to overcome laziness, poor habits like late nights out and drinking, etc. The 2024 Tigers ain’t good enough to pull that off.

If you want to avoid scrutiny, then win games instead of pissing away your NIL money at the roulette wheel.

Ran into Tommy white last year on Thursday before the A&M series. You seen what he did that weekend. I think it’s okay

Have said it multiple times this week

I’m an L’Auberge every Thursday from 6-9:30. Haven’t seen one player all season. Nor have I heard anyone there running around saying LSU players are in the casino.

I saw Saivion jones play blackjack during fall camp multiple times. That’s it.

The concern is athletes in a casino with a sportsbook 2 days before a game, playing absolutely atrociously day of the game, a year after a receiver was caught red handed by La State Police taking bets for all his friends, and alleged to have waged on the Tigers.

Why is that the concern? If an LSU player wanted to bet on college football why the hell would they do it in-person at the casino sportsbook? Has anyone reported that they even saw players placing bets on the sportsbook (serious question as I haven’t read much about this other than innuendo)?

I can somewhat understand criticism of players being out partying (even though it’s a tale as old as time) but the sports betting concern sounds pretty contrived to me.

All this angst about the players going out and BK yelling at players is bs.If they had won those games no one would have said anything Evan though it has allways been happening.

Being at the casino two days before a game is WAY down the list of why LSU is losing. As in so far down the list you can even see it. But, when things go wrong, people like to latch on to anything salacious.

Said they didn’t win a title. Winning the SEC and losing to Bama bad in the title game wipes out the rest of the season. Shouldn’t have to spell that out.

well Alt, they certainly don't have the expertise to write a book like you, every time you post.

It is a big deal....this isn't your typical go to a bar scenario. But hey, you have all the answers.
