I'm happy to see them move up after just a quadrant 3 win. Margin of victory definitely helped, but it is capped at 10. This whole thing is getting surreal for me.

22. Auburn
24. Ole Miss
26. Miss St.
36. Florida
50. Bama
76. Mizzou
83. Arkansas
90. Vandy
103. UGA
110. S. Carolina
111. A&M

OOC opponents outside the top 20
33. FSU (loss)
49. St. Mary's (neutral)
58. UNCG (home)
62. Furman (home)
66. Memphis (home)
115. Charleston (neutral)
123. LA Tech (home)
135. ULM (home)

You know it’s real when we are ahead of a blue blood like Kansas.

That's the wrong word. A Grambling loss at home hurts.

We've got PLENTY of resume right now without a Houston road win. Anything more is down right greedy!! (which is ok)

And a lot of time left to move up. 3 seed is very doable.

I've been all aboard the Will Wade train since the day it was announced he was coming to LSU and I've been very optimistic. But, I never thought he would have us in this position so quickly and this team still has tons of room to improve. Very impressive so far.

With a Houston win we’d probably be around 8. Had we beaten Florida State and Houston we’d probabky be like 4.

We’d crush either one right now, which sucks.

This team is something special. It’s pretty crazy how we are two blown leads from being potentially undefeated. (Though the losses helped with our maturity/development so you can’t really predict how things would have gone)

Being #13 NET is a hell of a lot more important than #13 AP.

But don't sweat it. LSU will be in top 25 when new AP rankings come out tomorrow. Probably between 19 and 21.

A big reason LSU moved up is because their defensive efficiency ranking shot up another 10 spots. That’s 20 spots for the week after beating OM and SC.

That’s reall the key for this team. If they can continue to defend well then the sky is the limit.

Really need to handle business the next 4 games against these NET cellar dwellers.

It's really not as bad as I thought. Any SEC road game would be at least a Q2 win right now.

I hear tell WW has a numbers crunching nerd out west who compiles all these numbers before the season and tells him how to schedule the best teams that are beatable but will give value in these computer matrix. It has enabled us to have the 14th ranked SOS with a schedule that to the naked eye would seem not nearly that tough.

Yes, Will Wade is a man that understands the numbers and how to schedule against them. I think as long as things stay like they are, we will continue to see schedules like this in the future. 1 neutral site tournament, a handful of upper tier mid-majors that are very beatable but win a ton of games, and very few power conference teams outside the neutral site tournament games or Big 12/SEC challenge.

UNCG, Furman, Memphis, St. Mary's and Houston all are good opponents on paper, but mostly arent eye catchers. Try and limit the terrible opponents, we knew Incarnate Word and Grambling would be bad, the 1 team that slipped on Wade was Southeastern LA who has been absolutely terrible. They won 20 games last year vs. D1 teams but this year is 4-12 vs. D1 teams. Wade thought they would be a "Decent" opponent, maybe similar to Charleston, Louisiana Tech or ULM but they are right down there with Grambling and Incarnate Word. ULM, Charleston and Louisiana Tech arent that far outside the Top 100, so those dont hurt you much at all.

absolutely ditto. where the tigers are now is/was pie in the sky at this point in the program development in my thinking. wade has even blown me away with his knowledge of meta stats like rolling average. the guy knows what he's doing.

i can't wait for lsu to stack up against the best in the league. it's going to be titanic. games like that auburn/ky game the other day. IT'S HAPPENING TO ME!
