Anyone notice baseball is the only sport that refers to us as Louisiana State even occasionally?
I also didn’t know this but Anthony Eyanson is a younger than Kade Anderson. 7-6-2004 vs 10-9-2024

What makes Anderson the number 1 overall pick but Eyanson isn't even a 1st rounder?
This isn't a shot saying Anderson doesn't deserve to be picked first, this is me think Eyanson is just as good. They both comand 4 pitches and have a 95 mph fastball. They both can pitch over 100 pitches in a game. They both have swing and miss stuff. Is being a lefty really the difference between 1st overall and the second round (assuming Eyanson would get picked in the second round)?

the arm they throw with and Anderson’s velocity is a tick higher on average
but really if Eyanson was left handed he would be a top 10 pick

I brought until because I always thought of Anderson as a better prosecute because he was younger and left handed even if Eyanson is IMO pitching better right now.

The fastball plays better for Anderson for sure, but I think as good as Eyansons breaking stuff is and his mix is, Kade is a cut above on that as well.
And of course, he’s a lefty. That’s a premium.
About a month ago (before seeing him shoot up these lists) , I remember Jay Johnson saying something to the effect of Kade is the only pitcher in college who’s a certainty to be on a MLB staff in a year.
It shows you how much more in tune he is than your average fan.
