Verge is the one who’s convinced the big money donors to get behind Wade and go against the admin. He’s the one spearheading this change everyone of us is praying for. I was like you I didn’t think he had the moves but after watching him operate through this mess he’s changed my mind. Remember when this thing started people were saying there was a civil war going on in BR? That was true, look at the firings that happened, the first week 2 employees under Verge were fired and to hit back the next week 4 of Alexander’s boys from Chicago were canned. I believe that move consolidated and convinced the big money to get behind Verge.

Fire the guy who sucks at his job and promote his assistant. It’s the LSU way.

Madking, is this your opinion or are there facts behind your claims? You have "watched him operate": how, exactly? Do you work with/ under him? A serious question as you are making him a "king maker", no pun intended. I know a few folks in the AD, granted no big shots, and have never heard him described as this type of power broker.

Something's going to happen and it's going to happen very soon. ...

Like I said before I had no idea he was either but what claims do you mean? Why do you need to know about who I know? Everyone knows there’s division over this issue in BR, everyone knows there are two sides fighting over this thing and if you’ve followed the news stories involving the LSU program in general you can easily see moves made by either side if you know how these things are handled and how they play out. Or do you think all that’s happened is simply a cascading series of coincidences? Btw “king makers” don’t make themselves king.

I don't know Verge personally, so I can't comment on his qualifications, but I will say he is one of the few, if not the only, that will reply to emails from the public. So at least he doesn't hide.
That said, I would prefer a proven AD that has previous ties to LSU (one of the two previously mentioned over and over)

Alleva is gone.

The claims you make in your first two sentences sound as if you know facts, not merely connecting dots. You "have watched him operate". As if you are personally aware of what he's been doing behind the scenes. Again, explain . I could care less who you know and am not asking for that info. Everyone on this board who has been following this disaster has had access to a lot of general information. Yet you are the only one making these seemingly hard facts claims. I am asking how you know all this.

You’re right I did make it seem like I had more than what someone could get just by following the story. Sorry for getting snappy but I got defensive because you’re right I do have some insight like you implied. The Verge for AD thing was told to me right when this thing started and I said no way, it’s too big for him. Soon after I was also told that it was going to die on the vine, that they tried but weren’t going to get it done. But now after all that’s happened I’m convinced he could be our man. I don’t wanna name drop or anything so I’ll just tell you to look at the news stories. People who worked under Verge were hit first, then the very next week 4 LSU employees from Chicago, Alexander’s people, are fired for violating state laws. That series of events tells you who the combatants over this thing are.

Hot Take:
Scott Woodward will not be the next LSU AD.

Verge was the only person to respond to my emails and phone calls.
The ONLY one, and I emailed & called Alleva, all AD assistants, Compliance and Alexander. I emailed all BOS.
He emailed me the next day. He phoned me a few days later.
First thing he said to me was “We love Will, and we want him back”.
Seems they were all terrified of the LOIC issue, because they felt it would bring scrutiny on LSU sports as a whole.
I reiterated that I felt that they were far too reactive to a media report and he avoided discussing that with me. I asked him if there was something else the public didn’t know, but he didn’t answer that either,
I said “Because of your reaction, you brought attention to yourselves, thus LOIC didn’t have to been such a huge concern.”
He also said that Will not going to the meeting was insubordination, and they had to be seen to address that. Again, if they hadn’t knee-jerked to the Yahoo report that would’ve been unnecessary.
He confirmed that there had been 2 meetings called, and Will refused to go to the later one after the first was cancelled.
His going back to the LOIC thing, several times. I got the feeling that they, or someone was freaking out about that.
I think Verge was more or less “toeing the party line” in our discussion on the LOIC and insubordination, which probably makes him a good “politician”, when necessary. Might make him a good AD candidate.
It was great that he felt my call and email ought to be answered. He told me he always tries to get back to people who have taken the time to contact him. If he’s open to feedback that’s also a positive.

That’s one thing a lot of people will tell you, Verge will answer your call/email etc. The reason I would be excited for him to be AD is because he’s been a Tiger his entire adult life. He was an outstanding player for us starting in his teens and since then he’s been working within the athletic department for LSU. He’s a true blue to the bone LSU Tiger. He loves this school and this athletic program and he knows the inner workings of the athletic department and the off campus power structure better than anyone. Sure he’s never done the job before but nobody’s born an AD and they all have to have a first job. At least we know Verge has the guts to fight the battles the fans demand our AD fights. Taking on Alexander and Alleva when you know they have the BOS and Governor in their corner takes a lot of nerve and savvy so if he’s the new AD he’s earned it.

Lol funny coming from someone so ignorant.

Look I like Verge and perhaps in a different era, he would have been a good AD. These guys are essentially CEOs running multi million dollar businesses, I’m not sure that’s Verge.
Verge as AD+ Woodward as President...I could get behind that
Verge with frickface King? I feel like it’s exchanging one puppet for another
