Does anybody remember the name of the Easton bats that they were using in 1997 and 1998? I have looked everywhere and I cant find a picture or a name, I want to say they were pewter with red lettering?

no, omaha is tps. if its easton late 90's, op might be referring to reflex or redline. their first 2 pc connexion bats appeared in 1999, so it could also be one of those, just depends on what years you are referring to.

Yep thats it!

Found it in the most obscure place: Newspaper Article from Bermuda

quote:

In May 1997, Easton launched "Redline," its premier line of baseball and softball bats using Ashurst's Al-Sc alloys. Redline bats have already made their mark, having been used by the 1997 College World Series Champion LSU LSU Louisiana State University

They were Easton C405 Alloy bats. They were mostly gold and maroon. When Morris hit the HR to win the CWS, Easton made a special blue and gold C405 and our Olympic Team used that bat in competition.

I know this gold and maroon one you're talking about. We referred to it as "oldie Goldie"(Eddy Furniss used this type of bat) This bat was one of the last "old school" Easton bats

Now, as for the TeamUSA Easton bat that Warren Morris used in the 1996 World Series, I remember it being red and blue. I don't recall any gold in the color scheme at all.
