So...it really is that simple then. Hmmm. So pitch count, batter's count is of little relevance except where the decision is 1 run more or less. Thanks for clearing that up...

It's that simple for those of us who played the game. But I'm sure it's really complicated for you.

I think the inconsistent strike zone effected the outcome a little. The roaming zone meant the LSU batters had to start swinging at anything that looked remotely close to a strike. They never got the chance to get many quality cuts.

I didn't see that at all. The LSU batters were starting to guess..IE, making up their minds to swing or not swing before the pitch. They guessed wrong because the Texas pitcher was really on his stuff.

IMO this was 2 nights in a row the plate ump has sucked. We won the first game inspite of him.

There is no doubt on my mind he was calling pitches balls for us and strikes for Tex. There was one inning were the LSU pitcher threw the low pitch and was called a ball and the next inning the Texas pitcher threw at the very same spot and it was called a strike. One of the pitches that struck Schimp out was 4 inches off the plate.

Win or lose I would like to here what our guys have to say about the umps because you can tell it gets to them.

I am a huge MLB fan and I am not always happy about the umpiring. But After watching the last few college games I have realized how much better the pro umps are. These college umps have been horribly inconsistent to say the least.... But here's to hoping the better team wins tonight and we all know who that is.

It's all good Ranaudo's gonna make the strike zone just fine tonight. We finally get to face a 'human' pitcher and our bats will redeem themselves.

Geaux Ranaudeaux and Ceuax!!!

I agree... there seemed to be a different standard for each team. However, it isn't and shouldn't be a game breaker. After the 1st or 2nd inning our players should have made an adjustment for the liberal strike zone. It's what we were dealt... so improvise, adapt, and overcome. No excuses...

Just win guys!!!!

If they follow the same rotation they have been, possibility of it being Steve Manders. He was the plate ump for the 2nd Texas/ASU game and the LSU/UVA game. He was at 1B last night.
-------------------------------------------------

Are you serious? That guy was not that good at all. If you are going to be inconsistent, be inconsistent for both teams. We can still win tonight even if we get the usual shitty ump!

This was just reported on ESPN. Apparently Erin Andrews picked up a piece of paper that fell out of the home plate umpire's pocket last night and it's just making it on this afternoon's Sportscenter

You all are serious. This is terrible

I googled the guy and all the pictures are from TX super regional activity dating back to 2003. I am sure he was treated well there and now we know....the rest of the story.

It is a shame that someone that involved with a specific school was allowed to ump that game.

I see the connection and why wouldn't they do such a thing... I sure Omaha wanted all three games played...

It's definitely a conspiracy. Anyone that knows anything about baseball knows that the ump was consciously calling the strikes different for the Tigers. What else could it be. The game has been closely evaluated by the experts and they've assured us that the Umps unquestionably called the game in dis-favor to the Tigers. That can't be an accident. Those Umps are most certainly cheating.

So are you implying that that or any officials calls had anything to do with Lsu losing the game? Why can't you just accept the fact that their pitcher pitched an awesome game and we could not hit him, and they were the better team last night.
