A very young team in a neutral site away from home against a ranked opponent gets down 24-7 midway through the 3rd after playing horribly and makes adjustments, picks themselves up, and wins the games 28-24.

PERFECT way for this young team to start. They will always have THIS together as a defining moment. They know they can come back and win together if they fight together.

First game jitters on a national stage are out of the way, but they have a TON to work on.

Last night was perfect for this particular team. I could not be happier.

I concur. Not a perfect game from a fan perspective, but I am glad to see they found a way to win. Equally impressive was the lack of stupid penalties. Don't know if it was more officiating (lack thereof) or discipline, but either way it's encouraging.

I agree with this. A lot to work on, but showed the ability to play some good football. They have a lot of potential. Just have to reach it.

Yeah going through serious adversity and coming out with a win is actually the ideal situation. We get experience, team bonding, lessons learned, and a quality win on our schedule.

I'll take a win with room for improvement / coachable points anytime - especially the front end of the season.

Agree. As Miles said, correcting mistakes is easier when you get the win.

50-0 with 400 passing yards and 250 buga yards would have been cool too.

I rather this confidence building come back win then us jump out to a big lead and then barely hold on to win.

It kinda reminded me of the TCU game last year. Slow start, then we dominated.

It was a good experience for the team but the ending covers up a lot that went very wrong.

The experience probably will pay big dividends, hopefully they will learn from the mistakes.

I can somewhat agree with your post, but can't agree with the thread title.

The ending does not cover anything. They were horrible most of the game.

If this were a veteran team, I would have a different view. It was only good because the team is young and largely inexperienced. They can build on this.

I agree with the sentiment.

I think some players were a little over confident and needed to be more focussed. I think bringing the team from behind did a lot for Jennings' confidence and he can focus on getting better, rather than just trying to beat out Harris. The young players got to grow up and those that missed the trip will hopefully WAKE UP and get their heads straight.

It never hurts to get battle hardened early.
