If the judge rules in favor of the conference, he will.
If the judge rules in favor of the players, he will add them to his active roster before another team does.

Tbh, the NCAA always seems to be trying to tamper the chaos.
They could step in right now and fix this and just say it goes into effect next year and all the players that are trying this year whether they’ve gone pro or not are not eligible. But they won’t because they’ll get sued.

I agree that Lane should do the right thing which is talk to attorney's and see what grounds he has for defamation lawsuits. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

The right thing is to follow the ruling of the court.
If the court says these guys can play, they are going to play somewhere regardless of anyones feelings about it.
So if they are allowed to play and are good enough, the right thing for Lane to do is get the best possible players for LSU

OP thinks as though if Lane relents, he’ll be viewed differently as in a positive light, made the right decision, etc…. That’s never going to happen so stay the course.

I am hoping the judge upholds the decision for the plaintiffs but dismisses the TRO against the SEC. That’s easy cover to back down without looking like we’re caving.
But there is absolutely no “right thing.” College Football is a busines and the players are all paid and have contracts, This is all hypocritical bullshite from frickheads playing in the ashes of what used to be College Football and acting like they have some moral high ground.
I hope the players keep it going and absolutely arse frick the SEC and Big 10 in court for being a duopoly and using predatory rules and practices to limit their market opportunities. They would have a case in a federal court with how focused they have been on antitrust in recent years. File on the west coast where Apple and Google have been losing their grip on their own marketplaces for a few years now and fricking squeeze them. If this made it to trial, the discovery would be absolutely amazing.

Ugh. The right thing is to help these kids who got caught in undecided rules and timelines. If that’s not enough, they even got cut.

If they stay the course, they will likely make some money in damages from either the NCAA or these conferences.
If they can win a victory at the federal level, the way could be cleared for them to play next season with the conferences completely enjoined from doing anything to them or their member teams. That would be a bigger victory than what is possible right before a season.
I would love seeing the SEC and Big 10 get fricked in court and lose some of their precious power in the process. What many don’t seem to understand is that these two are second only to the incompetent NCAA in damage done to the sport. And their damage was calculated and intentional.
