Lane leaving OM and the facts being distorted by the national media & narrative followed..

Lane is a sought after coach by MANY
LSU emerged as leader
OM gets antsy, and forces Lanes hand by demanding a signature on restructured deal
Lane tries to postpone and ride out season and commitment to team
OM press and gives hard deadline
Ultimately, OM forces Lane out, fires him, and refuses to let him remain although asked by him AND THE TEAM to let him finish the title run
Fast forward to the lead up to this game. Every single reporter, tv host, radio podcast, et etc etc are saying "Lane quit on his team and the players". All saying it, and all the same narrative.
Why would no one be stating the truth? OM got rid of Lane, period. So why is the media in lock step to stay away from explaining that truth?

That is a pretty skewed take.
The fault lies with the NCAA and when they set the date for transfer portal/recruiting to be before the college football season is over. (some problems there due to spring semester already in session before final CFP game(s)).
Therefore, if a coach with a CFP-bound team is leaving for another school, they need to jump before the final game(s) are played to be able to effectively recruit/secure players at new school. If that were not a time/date conflict, then Lane would have coached OM through the end of season and then gone to LSU.
OM would still be pissed, but all of the negative BS pointed at Lane doing OM dirty would not be there.

It is pretty annoying that people don’t even try to put the real facts out there and instead run with this “quit on his team” narrative.
In reality, ole Miss brass fricked themselves and the best chance they will ever have to win a title because they let their ego get in the way.
But it’s cool, they’re gonna have decades to think about that.

Simply not true. No matter what, Lane begged to stay. It had nothing to do with recruits. Not sure what else he could do

OM gave LK a deadline. That deadline was there because of the uncertainty surrounding his status for 2026 and recruiting.
Decision to not let Lane coach by OM AD had to do more with fear of how it would affect their program going forward - LK poaching more OM players, and what would he be telling recruits/targets for both OM & LSU football if he had declared - as he did - that he was leaving.
While technically you are correct that OM didn't let LK coach through the playoffs, you seem to miss the reason for the decision and the facts around why an AD would choose a certain path of action.

Ok you arent wrong, but thats missing the point.....IT WAS OM's DECISION to terminate the relationship early. No matter what their excuse was. No matter what Lanes intentions were, he would have coached the championship.
And now, they are acting like Lane bailed in them. Im confused on how they are feeding the false narrative.

Just don't care anymore about sorting out the facts. There are so many misquotes, words taken out of context, rumors, lies, etc. that there is just no point fighting it anymore. Our heels are dug into the ground, and our collective attitude ought to be that we just do not care what is being said about us moving forward. We can make our own decisions on how we feel about what we know to be true, and that's good enough for me. I see national guys start saying something that I know is false or out of context? I stop watching and go about my day. It just doesn't matter anymore. In past years, I've wanted to defend LSU tooth and nail, but we are now so polarizing that there's just no point caring about the opinion of the public. The people who love us will defend us blindly, and the people who hate us will oppose us blindly. That makes for a lot of unbearable bullshite.

(1) LSU told Kiffin and Ole Miss that Kiffin could remain to coach at Ole Miss.
(2) The mystery about HCs was over. Ole Miss recruits would know that Golding would the HC at Ole Miss and Kiffin would be the HC at LSU.
In short, the NCAA was not the big problem. Ole Miss hubris was the big problem. The media emphasized LSU as the problem, and then the NCAA as the problem when it got out that LSU acquiesced.
