Love you see all the "media" and anonymous SEC coaches talking up how good Chambliss and Simmons are as QBs and it had more to do with them as players than Lane.

I don't wish harm on the dudes but I hope they are mediocre this year so we don't have to hear this garbage anymore. Chambliss is being touted as a heisman favorite and the #1 QB in the SEC (Pate and others)...I just don't see how a guy who loses a OC and HC, who is an offensive genius can stay as good as he was.

Chambliss is a very good player. Yes, an offensive Coordinator and play caller can significantly help them but did you not watch the playoff game against Georgia? Chambliss won that game because of off script plays because he kept making people miss in the backfield and then scramble and find an open receiver down the field.

Chambliss is going to be very good, now will the offense as a whole be as good? Thats what is TBD and where I think they will take a step slightly backwards but Chambliss is a good QB and will have Ole Miss' offense very good this season. When hes gone thats where they might see a huge drop off.

I haven’t seen many media members talking about how good Austin Simmons is. Simons wasn’t actually that good under Lane. Anything specific you are referring to? I’m not sure why you have a problem with people saying that one of the best QB’s in the country last year will also be one of the best QB’s in the country again this year.

Also, can we quit acting like Kiffin is disrespected as a coach? Most people acknowledge that he is an elite offensive mind. That’s part of the reason why people have such high expectations for LSU.

Ole Piss is unfortunately going to have a good offense and it'll be primarily because Chambliss is a good QB. He's an excellent off-schedule playmaker and will be able to create a lot of opportunities for the rebs. The questions will be:

1. Have coordinators figured him out?

2. Will the new Ole Miss staff be able to maximize his abilities like Weis was able to do?

3. How many he times will he have to play hero-ball like he did against UGA, and can he keep that up for all 10 P5 Games the rebs play this season?
