No. 7 LSU (2-0) travels to Oxford on Saturday to face No. 8 Ole Miss (2-0) in a Top 10 SEC showdown at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm CT on ABC.

The Tigers enter the matchup as a 2.5-point favorite, with the over/under sitting at 58.5 points.

Saturday will also mark Lane Kiffin's highly anticipated return to Oxford after leaving Ole Miss to become LSU's head coach. The Rebels won last year's matchup, 24-19, in Oxford, while LSU won a 29-26 overtime thriller in Baton Rouge in 2024. The last three meetings between the two schools have all been decided by six points or fewer.

This will be the 115th meeting between the two schools. LSU leads the overall series 66-44-4. Series History

Press Conference Tidbits:
- About returning to Oxford: says it's weird facing a team he helped build with a new team he has built...he doesn't want it to be about him...wants the focus to be on the players.

- Edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen already has five sacks in the first two games.

- LSU offense averaging 7.8 yards on first down.

- On defending Trinidad Chambliss: very mature, doesn't make many mistakes, 24 years old, has made many big plays in big games, will be tough for LSU defense.

- On problems in red zone against LA Tech: attributed some of the issues with poor offensive line blocking and poor WR routes...not all issues can be blamed on QB.

- On OC Charlie Weis Jr: Lane said Weis was younger than Chambliss when Lane hired him at Alabama...he has matured each year as a play caller.

- On Coach O's health status: said he is doing better...but not 100%...Said O means a lot to Lane. O has joked that he will never go to hospital...wants to die on football field.

- First time in last 64 years that both LSU and Ole Miss are facing each other ranked in the top 10.

- Praised DL Deuce Geralds but says he will need to step up his game against better competition.

- Said he has talked to team about tuning out the noise on Saturday...says that Lane will take all the heat...they just need to focus on football. Lane says pressure is on Ole Miss...they are the ones with second longest home winning streak, returning two Heisman candidates, coming off a great season (13 wins) versus LSU's 7-6.

- On Pete Golding: he has great relationships with people...coaches players hard on field but loves them off the field too. Does great job schematically.

Ole Miss Week used to be a really big deal at LSU decades ago. LSU/Ole Miss was indeed a rivalry. Looks like it’s coming back.

"6:30pm primetime. ABC. Death Valley North gonna be packed with purple.
We're favored, series lead, and Lane has a point to prove.
No excuses. Win this and season changes.
Geaux 30-24"

Not really. Not sure who asked--maybe Hunt-- but sounded like one of those times Lane overshared a bit. Coach did mention a hospital stay.

I don't know if Lane was channeling Lou Holtz in this presser, but he sure painted LSU as the underdog.

Yes, Lane did say O is doing better now. But the word "hospital" was mentioned, yes.

Media should know by now not to ask him about strategy. He's not gonna answer anything about that
