Maybe get us to 7-5 because of three cupcake OOC wins and a W over a rebuilding Clemson but MVB ain't no MVP. There's a possibility that he transfers if Kiffin is successful in landing his QB targets in portal.

The QB room is empty thanks to Kelly, Austin Thomas and the rest of clowns in the GM?player personnel department. We recruited a 16 year old developmental project in 2024 and no high school QBs in 2025 or this year. Who does that?

Kelly wasn't just lazy. He was negligent and incompetent.

sees us score some points against a lower division team in a meaningless bowl game....gets all excited goes all in on QB. Did you see reed at A&M....the difference between playing good defenses and bad ones is huge..........yet people can't seem to understand that. I wish MVB nothing but the best, but he isn't accurate.

There is one QB on the roster. They need multiple QBs anyway. They will try to get the best they can get. MVB will be able to compete for the job.

Baker's defense was dogshite. Houston took him out to the shed and bit*h slapped him for three quarters.

Until our OL is fixed, no one can win with this offense

The OL wasn't great this year. But it's hard to judge ANY player based upon their performance in this offense because the entire approach, from top to bottom, was a disaster from the start. The run game was essentially 2-3 plays. The passing game avoided the middle of the filed like there was an electric fence running along the hashes. Hell, just in the final, meaningless game, LSU had the ball at the 6 inch line. They ran two bad plays out of shotgun for -2 yards...then lined up under center on third down to run another bad play (sweep) that only "worked" because of the individual efforts of two players (Thomas to run through contact and Green to drag him into the endzone).

If you don't agree with me, that's fine. But on the radio this morning both Flynn and Hester, two guys who had mutli-year NFL careers, were saying "thank God we don't have to ever watch this offense (the approach/design) again and we can watch a real offense next year".

You almost had to try to make this offensive personnel perform so poorly...and the LSU staff succeeded.

You don't think some of that had to do with missing:

An All-America CB
All SEC Safety
ALL starting LBs (if you consider Perkins an LB)
A starting DE

Then losing your best DT (Gooden) to injury, fairly early in the game?

Miss me with the excuses. Baker had a month to prepare the guys behind the starters, and he still got his arse handed to him.

I think Lane can maximize MVB’s potential. And I agree Lane can win games with him

But I don’t think he will win enough to make the playoffs.

And in year 1, that may be OK but i still have a feeling next year’s QB is not on the roster yet.

MVB regressed this year and I would expect him to be elevated with Lane; however I agree with most others that there are better options in the portal. Would love to see him stay and try to win the job and be a quality backup. We need him to stay and get two other QBs from the portal, the lack of qb recruiting by the previous coaches is unreal.

You can prepare all you want. If you aren't athletic or talented enough to make the plays all the prep doesn't matter. Tulane, with all of their starters, had essentially the same amount of time (2 weeks) as LSU had to prepare for Houston (bowl teams only get 2 weeks of practice). They got beat about as bad as they did the first time they played Ole Miss.

No matter how prepared Woodland/Pickett are, they don't have the experience and individual skill of Delane (yet). No matter how prepared Spears is, he doesn't have the instincts and physicality of Haulcy. Dylan Carpenter can spend a month preparing. He's not as physically strong as Pyburn.

Houston isn't a CUSA team. They are a solid Big 12 team. Regardless, I'm not going to judge a coach, good or bad, on a meaningless exhibition game.
