Lane / Leavitt loyalty

How much rope does Lane give Leavitt moving forward? I trust Lane to put the QB out there that gives the team the best chance to win but I also think he is trying to let Leavitt work thru things to be that guy.
I know Lane sees the issues. You could see the frustration in his face last night on some of the poorly executed passes on open receivers but then he would immediately try to use it as a coaching moment and try not to let it rattle Sam to much.
Lane has not been one to let loyalty override making a move so curious to see how this plays out as we move forward if some improvement to Leavitt’s game does not become evident

If Clark looked better in practice he’d be playing. The coach clearly feels Sam gives the best chance to win. That said, I do bet Sam’s rope is getting much shorter and wouldn’t be surprised to see him yanked if he pulls that shite again he did last night.

Bad footwork, no poise and innaccuracy will not be fixed in season. He needs a ton of time to fix his issues. But he may be the best option Lane has.

There’s just no way that neither of the guys behind Leavitt can hit an open target.
Leavitt might be able to make the highlight reel play or have the most upside, but if he can’t be consistent it’s not worth it.
The throw to the back corner of the endzone was amazing, but he misses open guys often. Clark has been more consistent with his arm, gets the ball out quick, and makes throws you expect your QB to make.

Jaxson Dart under Kiffin-
2022- 62% comp, 20 TD, 11 Int
2023- 65% comp, 23 TD, 5 Int
2024- 69% comp, 29 TD, 6 Int
I trust Lane to improve him if it can be done. I also think Kiffin makes a change if he thinks Leavitt can’t improve.

It’s game 3 man?
Are you not at least supposed to be loyal to the coach in the first year?
Some of yall are far too cynical.

He is talking about coach’s loyalty to the starting QB, not fan loyalty to the coach

You fricking retards are impossible to please.
He has done all this in garbage time against 2nd stringers when LSU is up by 50.

I’m in no way putting any doubt in Lane at this point. To the contrary, I think he is one of the few coaches in the nation who have proven to be able to truly develop QBs.
I have full trust he will make the right moves when the time is right. I was just questioning how long he can afford to wait before trying Clark. If Sam is the best option in Lane’s eyes then it is what it is. Lane has shown in the past he won’t hesitate to go to plan B. I’m just wondering at what point that becomes the path here?

We have to design more plays to get Sam out of the pocket to pass. First, he doesn’t trust the pocket anyway and moves out of perfectly good pockets. Second, when he occasionally stays in the pocket, he constantly gets balls batted due to his height and mechanics.
If he’s our guy, which he seems to be, the offense needs to be adjusted to him. I like Sam and love his grittiness, but we have to find a way to improve the passing game.

Throwing an accurate pass is throwing an accurate pass.
What’re you crying about?

You are literally describing what was reported during Spring practice.

The reports out of spring practice were that none of our QBs could hit wide open receivers? lol
I’ve seen Clark play.

You’ve seen him throw 10 passes in garbage time.
I like Clark, but I’m not ready to anoint him.

i'm not crying about anything. according to you and a lot of LSU fans, the backup QB is always the best QB on the roster. i can't help you're dumb that's something you'll need to figure out
