I stayed in the lot during the game. There were dreadlock thugs reeking of weed walking around everywhere.

This too. I have no idea what happened. But it was obvious and has been all season from the time we park and talk to our tailgate spot. Even my little guy said “why is it so ratchet around here now?”

So what…. That’s not a valid excuse anymore. Anyone willing to call Sid Edward’s a racist will be laughed at by the majority of people and Landry doesn’t care it seems.(maybe his best quality).

You’d be shocked. Landry will jump at the opportunity to look like he’s taking action.

He could deploy National Guard on the edge of campus just as a show of force.

For the last 10 - 15 years campus police, BRPD, LSP, and ATC spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in OT expenditures simply to issue as many MIP tickets as possible. This is what happens when your priorities are completely backwards. 18-19 year olds drinking beer and the occasional fight have never been a threat to anyone else attending a game. Actual criminals , however , slowly encroached upon a large group of easy targets. Now they have staked their claim to an area of campus and the collateral effect of turf/hood beefs/ and acting without concern for the life of others is close to ending the best atmosphere in college football (and a multi million dollar revenue generator for the community. ).

I will stop bringing my family. What’s going on out there ain’t tailgating and it’s downright disgusting. Low rent and we will not be a part of it.

I’m not wrong.
You think parents with young kids will take them to LSU if there’s consistent gun violence on campus? GTFOH

Kent State shootings (May 4, 1970)
Jackson State shootings (May 15, 1970)

Ironic.

I was at LSU in 1970. We've come full circle.

Far too much of the riff raff is allowed on campus on gameday -- those who aren't there for the game or tailgating, but they're there to cause trouble.

You cannot prevent this element from coming on campus, but I've always thought it was pretty obvious who was there for football, and those who aren't.

I would employ some of what NOLA does for big events - overwhelming police presence, both uniformed and undercover, use mounted police on horseback positioned at critical areas around campus, specifically North entrance corridors. Bring in LEOs from other surrounding parishes (maybe this is already done).

But yes, gameday needs to be made safe for families no matter the cost.

It has gotten to this point. Overwhelming police presence and mounted police officers is a no brainer. Bring in State Troopers to help.

They also need to be harassing people who are obviously not there for football or tailgating. Raid the large groups of unsavory people who who are not wearing any LSU gear and reek of weed. Also need to stop and frisk.. make them not want to be anywhere around campus on game days.

And people wonder why fans arent staying in the stadium til the end of the game walking back to their cars at 11 pm...

Officers were dispatched at 8:30pm which lines up with halftime when a lot of people left so technically they would’ve been safer walking to their cars at 11pm

The term is intended to be offensive and is used by those who hold racist or xenophobic views, particularly within white supremacist communities.

Here we go. We have a problem and the race card is thrown in.
