So far, the local paper (The American Press) has not been covering LSU baseball very well. There was no write up about this SEC series this morning....it's unfortunate. They are usually solid with coverage.

Last week one of the biggest sports stories in the Opelousas paper was my friend's grandma getting hit with a foul ball at a high school game. They mis-spelled her name throughout the entire article also. The article was above the fold on a one page sports section. Terrible.

I like Scooter's coverage, but with this baseball program it has been few and far between....silence, darkness, and emptiness. However, McNeese's first day of spring practice did get a big front cover...

you would have to get an opinion column in whatever their version of the entertainment/lifestyle section.

but the business model is outmoded anyway, they need to go online more and probably focus on some kind of niche market, like make themselves the top news source for the Southland Conference or something similar.

Can't even listen to a LSU baseball game on the radio in Lake Charles??? Yet, LSU has played McNeese twice in Lake Charles and there was a packed house both times. By far the two biggest baseball crowds in McNeese history??
