Reuben...come on to T-Town baby!! You will ride the bench for sure at LSU next year if this is true.
How will he ride the bench? Guilbeaus column this morning was pointing out how thin LSU recievers were even with La Fells return
PROS
RR will be THE man after next year
LSU is thin at reciever he will get playing time next year.Although LSU will have developing recievers to take the load off,all they need is experience(ex Tolliver ,the # 2 rated reciever out of HS,Bell, Benton-hopefully) As far as I know Bama will be thin after Jones I really cant name another good reciever developing to help carry the load later in RRs career
At LSU he will be part of the # 1 recuiting class.
At bama jones will be the man
Bama doesnt have a QB
LSU jas Jefferson , plus RR will go through in the same class as Shepard the # 1 athletic prospect QB in the nation. LSU HAS TALENT, but not that much experience yet at reciever
At bama he will play second fiddle to Jones ,at LSU he WILL BE JONES.
The assistant coaching at Bama is in turmoil.
At LSU the O coach is Crowton known for his wide open style, at Bama 3 yards in a cloud of dust
RR will be p[laying in his own state, where his friends and family will watch.A much closer drive home
OK now Bama-
RR will be playing for a selfish jerk , that no telling what he will do. and will have to pull somebodys scholly just to make room
Bama will be LSU at the start of last year, no idea what to do at QB, and this wont fix itself without even a star (no pun) qb on the roster
Just think having the #1 or 2 however you want it, QB passing for your career and in Jefferson a qb that will be ready immediatly.Plus part of the top class in the nation
This SEEMS to be an easy decision, but I wish the man good werever he goes
Sorry had to respond to that statememt(this was supposed to be about Brandon)and this should have been aired on the recruiting board, but the statement was made here.
WELCOME BACK LAFELL, this is great news

That's exactly what he'll have to do, because he won't learn much from that joke of a receivers coach we have. LaFell probably WILL teach him him more than McCarthy. But hey, that McCarthy is a "Great Recruiter" and is the one recruiting Randle, so by all means keep him on the staff. So what, if he can't teach our wide outs how to concentrate, focus and hang on to the GD ball. There are WAY too many drops and McCarthy hasn't been able to fix it.........
you get more racist everyday

can a coach really fix a player dropping the ball? i mean he can teach him how to run a route, how to position his feet and hands...but at the end of the day he cant teach a kid to bring it in....???

Wow, d. peterson, r. dixon, c. mitchell, j. mitchell, c. tolliver, t. molten are scrubs and won't have a jump on a true freshman with their experience in the system.
Welcome back Brandon!

Are we 100% positive that he never talked to an agent?
I lived in Alabama during the Antonio Langham ordeal and it wasn't pretty.

I think he made it pretty clear that he wasnt going to talk to an agent so that he could have the 72 hours...im thinking he was always leaning toward staying, but just wanted to give himself the absolute last minute to think about it.

Just that he made it clear he didnt have an agent. I think LaFell clearly knew the rules, wanted to leave his options open and played exactly by the rules

He will ride the bench in Baton Rouge as much as Julio Jones did his freshman year at Bama. Stop acting like you know anything about what our coaches have in mind for RR in Baton Rouge. You don't even have a QB that has any real playing time. Jordan Jefferson will be able to get him the ball more than you will ever admit.

Great decision by B - I think at best he would be the #4 behind Crabtree, Harvin, and Murphy - and this is with a fantastic combine workout.
Next year, with a little bit of work on his hands and continued improvement from the QB's (better accuracy, distribution of the ball) he could easily be the #1 (the 2010 collection of WR's is not really that impressive - Damian Williams of USC, Maybe Benn of Illinois, there really is nobody that stands out

I know we lost RJF, but that was inevitable. Glad you're staying Jo Jo.
Why inevitable? Seriously. I think he's making a big mistake.

I'll take Lafell (a proven WR) for one year vs. a RR based upon stars.... Let RR go to BAMA if he thinks its a better option (which it isn't).
+1. Still hope we get RR but Lafell should be
an AA next year. He's a few JJ bombs away from
being a rich 1st rounder next season IMHO.

Naive to think they will learn ANY lesson.
[quote]2) Les Miles is a great coach with integrity and leadership skills. Otherwise, my friends, we wouldn't have hired great coaches, players wouldn't be returning, and recruits flocking to LSU to make it the #1 recruiting class in the nation.
Summed up pretty well.

There is much talk that he was not going to be able to play next year for academic reasons, so he entered the draft by default.

Byrd and Mitchell are gone, he will have a change to play
