I know many in here feel as I do in that this pre season has been the worst in recent memory as far as excitement/momentum heading into the season.

I also know O had a reason for closing everything. However, it's very risky in that if the team comes out struggling I think the fans will be less patient than if he had taken on a transparent approach like Carroll at USC.

I'm very hopeful they'll come out like the Oregon game in 2011, but if they come out like Wisc in 2016 the fans will turn fast. I can't remember another's instance where fans confidence in the program will be won or lost as quickly as this season.

A great/terrible Sept can make or break the O regime for the next few years.......as always imho

Who cares, just beat BYU... Expect our offense to struggle a little bit as its our first game with a completely new and fairly complex system. Keep it real.

I couldn't care less about fall camp excitement. The excitement begins when they take the field when it counts.

Regardless if practice was open or not, the outcome will be the same if we struggle.

I'm excited as I have ever been. Fan and media excitement or lack there of will determine nothing. Player excitement and focus will determine how this season plays out. I'm sure that is what O had in mind when closing his practice. Fans and media are not entitled to know everything. I doubt he does this every year.

Camp and everything about it will be forgotten when the 1st game is kicked off.

Yep.

I know that I just couldn't WAIT to hear that the press was able to see, in their 15 mins of practice watching, how the LBs looked while stretching and that the QBs were accurate / inaccurate in their WARM UP tosses.

sheeesh......some people act as if the change is from some wide open, unfettered access. It never was THAT.

I'm excited as hell! A new offense being run by the top OC in college football last year, Aranda will have his defense fully installed and is planning to blitz more than ever, a RB that's a dark horse to win the Heisman, the returning SEC sacks leader, and a season opener against a quality opponent on national TV! WTH is there not to be excited about? Anyone not excited about the season just looks for reasons to hate life. I typically don't become a nega-tiger until the second or third loss.

We are like expectant parents who choose to learn the baby's gender at birth. That is when the true excitement will occur.

A new OC, the 2nd season of Aranda the mad scientist, Guice pushing for the Heisman, Devin White, the punisher . . .

If you are lacking excitement, you made need to change your meds.

No it isn't. Stop making a big deal out of something that is not a big deal.
