That the LA Tech guys were jumping up and celebrating after the hit, as Toliver was out for the count (via the questionable hit) right by their sidelines, might have played a small part in it too.

For the most part, this was the crew that also did the Mississippi State vs. Auburn game this season so I am just a bit doubtful of the WAC official claims by some.

So in other words the WAC commissioner called out the SEC officials for not throwing a penalty flag on one of his teams. That is awesome. Why can't that lowlife Mike Slive come out and call out the officials for that?

Since he led with his arms, and the contact was made by his facemask, isn't it a legal hit? If so, on what grounds is Benson suspending him?
Don't get me wrong, it was a dangerous hit and I'm glad no one was seriously hurt, but legal's legal.

If those are the names of the officials from the game...that is an SEC crew. Wally Hough played for the Gators and there have been criticisms of his involvement with a Gator Booster club while working as an official for several years:
