No one was thrown in jail over it nor should they have been. You have every right to be a trashball, the school just isn’t going to encourage it by playing the song. Pretty simple.

Yes, they did. I was sitting 4 rows behind their band, so I heard it very clearly. They also had a couple of guys yelling, "Twist his dick!" when our guys were at the foul line. Definitely was not something I have ever heard anyone yell during a game, but whatever floats his boat. It should be known that this same guy had a huge stuffed sloth sitting in the seat next to him. Those Tech boys are an interesting bunch. I had to call my son and ask some serious questions, since he is a freshman at Tech.

I was long gone student-wise before they ever played it at LSU. But we do have a history. I was at the first game that Rice was ever televised on. Find a beta player and I'll prove that our beloved students were the first to be recorded on national TV doing the "Whaaaat come out of a chinaman's arse? Rice, Rice..." And then there was the "Rip rip rip, rap rap rap, Alabama women got the (Clap three times here)... That started well before I was first there in '80. There were many more before and after but if you think LSU is in the minority here, you are wrong. Students at UT started the Rice thing and a university near the University of Alabama started the other. So I guess we're all a bunch of trashy ho's...

LSU students not the band made neck iconic. Don’t believe me - you tube it. tech band is mimicking LSU band but it’s the students at LSU who made it fun for a while. Maybe it was over the top and trashy but it was fun for a while. South louisiana is very different. fun loving culture that doesn’t take things so serious.
