One out of 8 players on Bama's team is from LSU and only ONE is a starter for them? That is funny.
Saban wants Louisiana players so bad that he offers and takes as many as he can and most do not pan out. If you have 12% of your players from another state and only one starts, that is obsession that is actually messing you up.
Good. At this rate, I hope that he gets 30 players from Louisiana that are not good enough to start at LSU.

Didn't Hootie decommit from Bama late in his recruitment and tried to commit to LSU, but Les wouldn't take him?

Rumor was that he decommited from Bama because Sabans plan to try and get LSU to cool on Jamal Adams and go after hootie instead and leave LSU with neither at the end. LSU didn't bite
Rumors are rumors though so take it fwiw

likely, Cam would start on any OL in the country.

Hootie will never start for Alabama, and he would never start here either. I bet he transfers after this season to LaTech or something.

So had LSU contacted at that time (keeping in mind there was already talk of Jamal Adams by now), and then he later inks with Bama- NCAA penalty. That's why he decommitted during the dead/no-contact/quiet period (can't remember which). Womack did same thing. LSU thought it was worth the risk.

Someone else already pointed out that TM was booted off the team, but I'll just reinforce that you're a moron and TM was booted off the team.

After more than 10 failed tests, yes he was.

Lsu passed on Williams for character issues. It wasn't disclosed why but it was reported that Lsu was going in a different direction last recruiting season. I would assume reasons mentioned above must have been an issue.

The thought that Bama comes into LA and steals recruits are greatly over exaggerated.
The ones that are either good or still have a chance to be good are:
Cam Robinson - from West Monroe it's not much farther to Tuscaloosa than BR. Maybe an hour difference at most.
Tim Williams - IIRC we really stopped pursuing him hard his senior year. Think he was under performing his senior year of HS so we targeted others.
Hootie Jones - alot of people cooled on him later in the process. At one point he even decommitted from Bama, and rumors were that he contacted our staff and they said they weren't interested any more. We got Jamal Adams.
Daylon Charlot - Similar thing happened here where he decommitted from Bama, and everyone thought he was going to be a tiger. Then nothing happened. Just don't think we pursued him too hard after a while.
Denzel Devall - was never coming here

Tim Williams would definitely be in the DE rotation. He has been great this season. He is a "miss" considering he went to high school on campus and he plays DE where we are relatively thin.
Wasn't Tim Williams the one with all the drama in school? This guy did not want to be in Louisiana anymore. The only ones Bama has gotten, are guys that did not want to be in Louisiana. You can't change anybody's mind that is like that. Think of the many regular teens that always talk about leaving towns or getting as far away from their hometown as possible.
Some want to play for the state, others want to get away from the state. More power to both IMO.
