Kyle Williams…what’s he doing?

I really thought the defensive line play this year was outstanding. I know it’s his first run at coaching college ball, but I have say that I’m disappointed he isn’t staying. I really looked at him as a major asset to communicate with other alums and also for recruiting North Louisiana.

Didn’t enjoy the “rat race”

He is going back home to play golf and watch his kids grow up

I guess we have different definitions of “outstanding”

Why? He literally doesn’t want to coach anymore?

Which is his right and makes sense. Totally understand a guy like that not enjoying the way cfb is today.
But c'mon man, you can't help coach the bowl game for your alma mater?

Sounds like he quit on the team

Not everyone wants to put up with NIL and recruiting and the coaching hours.

I like Kyle Williams and wish he would have stayed. He apparently learned that he did not like the job as much as he expected. That happens and it is understandable.
What i do not like is him dropping the team like a hot potato just prior to the bowl game, unless there is some kind of family emergency.
He could have fulfilled his role, coached the game and retired. It would have extended his commitment by a few days. It does seem a bit like he quit on the team. .

Our DL got basically zero push and our pass rush was nonexistent without blitzing

Agreed, I was impressed with the DL and how Kyle worked with what we had.
Kyle is handling this the right way - if you can devote the time and effort it takes to coach at a high level in the SEC, then do it. If not then step aside and don’t coast.

I keep seeing people post like he is moving back to Ruston, but I don’t know if that’s true. His son is playing as an 8th grader for Dunham, and I think his daughters are big into soccer. BIL is the basketball coach at Dunham. I could see him staying around BR, at least while kids are in school, to play sports and be closer to cousins. He probably will eventually come back.

More accurate and sad. One more day, bruh. Is all it took.
