I think he’s got a shot to make the majors at some point next season. But a lot will depend on if the Cardinals go after a shortstop in free agency and if they can find anyone to take DeJong off their hands.

Kramer has played all over the infield, but so has Edmundo Sosa, who is a better hitter and fielder, so had Evan Mendoza, so has Brendan Donovan. Plus Tommy Edman is young, Nolan Gorman will probably be up in the majors next season. It’s a crowded situation.

Traveling party!

That sounds better than being on the roster.

A little better hitter but a little less on the defensive side.

Kramer is an outstanding fielder. His fielding pct at 2B this year was .995 (exactly the same as the 2021 MLB leader at the position, Kolton Wong).

Problem is, he's stuck behind a few other utility infielders in the pecking order. The cardinals also have Nolan Gorman coming up next year who is a 3B by trade, but isn't beating out Nolan Arenado for that job, so they'll have to find somewhere else for him.

Kramer didn't get called up to the big club, per se. He's only on the taxi squad, which means he won't make the active roster unless an injury (or a few) pop up or if the team wants to go hitter-heavy on the bench during the WC game.

Still happy for him. Sure doesn't suck to chill in LA with no pressure while enjoying the perks of big league ball

As a pure bat, Yepez makes the most sense, but he’s also the youngest on the list I think. Be a weird time to start his clock (though I don’t know what effect the playoffs has on service time).

Yepez was added to the roster for today. Robertson was not.
