Would you prefer an AD that didn’t?

I mean, she won her first national title in her 5th year at Baylor and then won a national title every 7 years after that and she went to the Elite 8 seven other times. Also, her 2011-2012 went 40-0 and broke the record for the most wins ever in a college basketball season (men or women). If you're going to pay 2.5 million for a women's basketball coach, then that is the person to pay.

There was a time when our AD thought giving Nick Saban 1.2 million per year was lunacy.

Market value to get the coach he wanted. No problem with it. I do have to wonder what is going through the minds of some athletic department staff who had to take pay cuts because of the covid fiscal crisis.

If she brings fans in that are excited about women's bball, they may not turn a profit but she will definitely make her salary. Also if she can help stop this negativity swirling around the program and bring some positivity in with women and title 9 that makes it worth it right there IMO.

That's why folks need to stop trying to count LSU's money by telling us which sport LSU should "invest" in. Scott and his staff know EXACTLY which sports deserve support, and to what extent. CLEARLY women's basketball is a worthy investment that they see a healthy return in the future.

........................and now we're hearing the contract is through 2028, and at the end of it she'll be up to $3 million/year. Oh boy, I know some of these "ROI" boys on this board ain't gonna like that.

It’s the price for someone having balls in the athletic department, and right now she has the biggest set....

You paid much attention to the TV contract money the SEC schools will be getting? And no, no one is planning their budget around an outlier year with a worldwide pandemic.

TX had no personal income tax but higher property taxes. Would like to see what net effect is to her. She should kill it with endorsements at LSU, too
