I opened this thread and was going to blast the OP. Then I got to thinking about and it may be an interesting concept to think about. Men coach women's teams so why not a woman who is intense and a proven winner with Louisiana ties ?
It would put LSU on the national stage and might work.

Wonder if she would consider it?
She is a proven winner.
Could the Pelicans hire her then? She has already won a title with one great big man before, so she should be able to do it again with AD

Women do not want to coach boys because there's too much sexual tension. It is not as big a problem for men coaching girls. I don't see it ever happening.

I'd rather see her as AD

She is a product of Louisiana.
Proven time and time again a winner.
Can motivating and teaching women be easier than motivating and teaching men??
She a tough person.
There is no doubt she would bring attention to the program that it does not get now.

i'm still shocked to OP is completely serious about this...opened the thread thinking it would be a joke

Could she do worse than Bullet? It might bring a little positive press to the school.

Not interested in her as MBB coach, but she's Derek Jeter's mom, IIRC.

Why not Mulkey???
Those people bashing the idea---tell me why.
I am quite sure, not to call any names, she is much smarter than many men coaches if not most.
I am quite sure, not to call any names, she can motivate 19 year olds to play ball much better than most men's coaches.
I am quite sure she can recruit great basketball players.
What else would you worry about?

Could she recruit 17 year old boys?? She has raised one.
It would be very interesting.
I'd put money on her being better than JJ!!!

I first proposed this on here awhile back, half joking, but I'm 100% sure she could prepare and game/X&O coach the team in a far superior manner than the current coach..............

I would just be interested in seeing how male high school basketball recruits would respond to her. Would they give her a fair hearing or are there too many young high school men who sub-consciously say, "I'm not comfortable, she's a 'girl,' I want to be coached by a man."
I'm not opposed in theory to hiring a woman to be head men's basketball coach, but we've already had 7 1/2 seasons of mediocrity and if we can find a good male coach, I'd like to leave the social experiment to someone else for now.

Can you just imagine how crisp the bounce passes would be and how explosive the layups would be on the back door cuts?

I'll say this, I think Becky Hammon will probably eventually be a head coach in the NBA, and if she can draw free agents just as easily as any male head coach can, this becomes a different conversation.

She knows what's going on, that's for sure.

I wish we had hired Barmore 10 years ago when we hired Van Chancellor (who wasn't bad). He is 72 now. Tupelo, I also grew up in Bastrop and my father played for Leon. Dad graduated in 1970. Y'all were probably teammates.

She would be great. I saw her coach on TV many times when I lived in North La.. A better coach would be Leon Barmore, her arse't that would be great. He was my High School coach before he went to La. Tech in Ruston. He's good on x's and o's,defense, game adjustments, preparation, practice, just plain smart. He coached at Tech, then went to Baylor with Mulkey. He's about 67, It would be his last job before retirement.
