Thank God that the “ Fighting Tigers” didn’t come from the Confederacy. Oh wait, nevermind!

I think what makes him interesting, is that he’s kinda both. And some other things. And you never quite know which one he’s giving you.

And you can still roll your eyes, but just to clarify, I wasn’t saying he was “some wizard or mind controller” that was going to be fascinating to watch. I didn’t even mean that he was going to be fascinating to watch. What I meant was that it was going to be fascinating to watch how LSU fans—on this board in particular—react to his “uniqueness” when we see the day-to-day, game-to-game Kiffin and he does shite that none of us has ever seen.

I am more interested in our reactions to his behavior than the behavior itself. I’ve seen enough to know what we’re getting. I don’t think a lot of LSU fans actually have. But they will.

It’s actually impressive, really. But I don’t think he’s dumb as much as there’s probably something wrong with him. Whatever it is, it has helped hide his racism that pours out of every post. If Chicken or the other mods could actually understand his posts, he’d have been banned years ago.

Who, or what, is he pandering to, exactly?

The braindead morons who are trying to act like a university condones slavery because of its mascot and name. If players shouldn’t go to Ole Miss because of confederate symbolism, they probably shouldn’t consider the Ole War Skule Fightin’ Confederate Tigers or basically any other university in the South that opened before 1865.

It is pandering. Sorry if you’re too stupid to see that, the entire conversation he had was ridiculous and again, I’m glad he’s willing to do it and he’s our guy because he’s almost as good at it as Saban was. It is a complete joke though

LSU never would have gotten Kiffin

he may been frustrated that that kept a few players away but I seriously doubt that he really gives a shite about the Confederate connections

He's taking heat for the move, and making it a morality issue so he doesnt look so bad.

Its more of a marketing/PR move than something that really bothers him

As I figured it’s already getting flipped but I 100% understand what he is saying growing up in Mississippi mostly.

I wouldn’t have thought there was a way to make Ole Miss so angry that it actually affects them negatively during play, but Lane might have pulled it off with this one. Just savage.

Doubt most of the players are angered by someone pointing out Ole Miss' confederate ties.

He's clearing saying this to hurt Ole Miss in recruiting but I'm sure many others will take this the wrong way. Funny troll regardless.

Stephen A Smith going to love this one and probably make a quote about it on his show for sure. He mentions this all the time at why nobody wants to go to Ole Miss.

There's little chance anything in that article is factual. Like this..

quote:

When he was coaching there, Kiffin says, top recruits would tell him, “‘Hey, coach, we really like you. But my grandparents aren’t letting me move to Oxford, Mississippi.’ That doesn’t come up when you say Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Its a PR move period.
