Justice Elena Kagan accuses Supreme Court’s conservative majority of undermining democracy

LINK

Have justices furiously criticized other Supreme Court decisions in the past? Of course they have.

But here is where this Leftist brained diseased idiot has crossed the line.
Her recent criticism, as explained in this article, is significant because she is questioning the broader democratic consequences of the Court's decisions, rather than simply disagreeing with the legal reasoning in one case.

There is an important distinction between two kinds of criticism:

Criticism in a judicial dissent: A normal and essential part of Supreme Court decision-making, even when extremely harsh.

Criticism in public speeches and interviews: Less common, particularly when a sitting justice questions the Court's overall direction, institutional legitimacy, or colleagues' judgment.

This is a typical pouting immature reaction from a Leftist moron. Behaving like a little stubborn child that isn’t getting their way.

These Progressive Leftist idiots worldwide are so fricking tiring. They are literally the reason we have so many constant nonstop problems worldwide.
They are a scourge on society as a whole.

Women should never be allowed to be judges.

Much less a lifetime appointed Chief judge of the country.

Clown show.

So the majority undermines democracy? Am I reading this correctly?

“Part of the reason why the court got it wrong was a kind of lack of the appropriate concern or understanding of the consequences of their decisions,” she said in remarks at Catholic University’s law school in Washington, D.C.

“I do think in all these areas the court has blinded itself to the very deleterious effects of their rulings on how the political system works and has created a democracy that doesn’t work as well as it should,” she added.

Ostensibly, she's suppose to be calling balls and strikes and not become preoccupied with how that's gonna affect her home team. Had she been on the SCOTUS in 1973, she'd held hands with Harry while he wrote the majority opinion with zero concern that it would lead to the murder of 60+ million people who were never allowed to vote.

Agree with the OP, kick her off the Supreme Court.

And when Democrats win and add 3 more morons like her to the court (which they promise to do every day) overnight literally every right you thought was safe will go out the window. But, yeah, keep voting because muh gas went up.

Those are rather tame remarks. Sometimes the Court does not consider the likely effect of its decisions.

Does it need to? I thought the only consideration should be "is it Constitutional".

That is a broader consideration than comparing what is happening to the a single document, the Constitution. You also have to consider whether you create other constitutional problems with your resolution of one problem.

Scalia routinely said much worse. Alito routinely says much worse. This is the nothingest nothing burger imaginable.

Seems the article author is exaggerating a little bit. The main thing Kagan is saying is that she believes that the majority of the court’s decisions on minority majority districts and campaign finance laws are going to have a lot of unintended consequences and contribute to greater polarization within our society. She’s not entirely wrong, even though I agree with the majority on those decisions.

Kagan is one of the few liberal justices that I respect. Even when I disagree with her, I can read her opinions and usually count on them to be well-researched, well-supported by precedent, and intellectually honest. If only every democrat could be like that. Jackson and Sotomayor’s opinions by comparison are often just partisan drivel.

Shes paving the way for courtpacking and three or more morons joining her, and then we will have tyranny. She'll love it.

It’s Tboy. It’s anything to speak against conservatives. It doesn’t need to make sense for the radical leftists.

Won't hear a word of rebuke about this from our "conservative" Chief Justice.
