Tate was a good president. Much better than his predecessor, IMO.

I’ve been saying Woodward’s involvement in the hire (or at least the negotiations) should be restricted, but announcing it to the universe in typical La politician grandstanding fashion isn’t the move.

So let me get this straight the guy that needs votes doesn’t want one of the largest contingencies voting bases to be on his side or to look at him favorably ?????

He's angling up. He's not trying to win votes in Louisiana anymore.

He was trending the right direction after holding the famous meeting on Sunday night, then of course went and stepped in it this afternoon.

Landry said the Board would hire the coach. Did you actually listen to him? He said that Woodward would have no involvement. Landry never said he was personally hiring the football coach though.

Neither did i.

But there was a live microphone on a podium and a chance to make a statement.

Landry wants to make himself look good for re-election. If he hires a bad football coach, do you think LSU fans, who primarily voted for him, will re-elect him? No. He’s going to make a good hire.
so then why would he do this? Your wrong, he cares about getting it right. If this was policitical he wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole in fear of it back firing. He is showing balls to get it right. This ain't about votes, if it was, he would have steered clear for risk of losing them. You lefties are something else. Facts

Landry said point blank “the Board will have a committee to hire a new coach.” What more needs to be said???

1) try some reading comprehension bruh. Why does he care about being right? Votes.
2) not a leftie. Check my post history

If that's the case why did he bring that fake mascot into the stadium risking LSU's ability to have a live mascot at all ever again?

Because he's not an LSU fan, he's just a regular Louisiana politician (read: retard).

So glad I’m not longer seriously emotionally invested with LSU sports anymore.

I’ve recently moved back to La (for now) and I’ve realized how seriously messed up this state is in so many ways.

State=toxic

And this last week has cemented it.

The fan base is psycho
The politics are psycho

your wrong

He cares about getting right because he cares about our State and LSU. Votes for what, 1 more term? He won without doing this and will win again regardless. Gtfoh. He has more to lose if he thought this was a political move. He got the sac to stand up. Thats what it is. He isnt even doing the hiring, a committee will. Some people. Smdh. Its called doing your duty that you got elected for.

Try learning something about chain of command when it comes to state employees. Try "comprehending" that.
I comprehend just fine "lefty"

Today's outburst is the perfect way to sabotage the search and make sure we end up with a terribly under qualified candidate
