Are you kidding?

Here's that conversation between PM and Gausman.

Gausman: hey coach, I want to come back and pitch at LSU for my junior year. I have some unfinished business here.

PM: sorry Gausman, no can do. We are maxed out at 35. We are looking forward to what Kevin Berry will bring to the table next season.

I know it's sometimes necessary, and I love the kid that wrote this story, but I hate when journalists break huge news by way of anonymous sources.

I'd guess this is a negotiation tactic and wouldn't be on Gausman returning.

Some of us don't need a reason.

If you follow this board enough, you'll realize nicolastiger is possibly the most ignorant poster on here.

Also, the headline is deceiving. Kevin Gausman, as of right now, is not returning. A source has told the Times Picayune that he's returning. There's a big difference, and the headline both in this thread and on the Times Pic website are misleading.

Maybe he couldn't come to agreement with Baltimore?
No absolutely nothing about MLB signing process

This just means at this point that they have not dumped a big enough bucket of cash in front of him. The Orioles are not going to let their #1 DRAFT PICK just walk away that easily. You will know more if KG makes back for the Fall semester enrollment.

Yea, I think they jumped the gun on this one. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :onecanhope: :fingerscrossed: :handlotiononstandby:

The article added quotes!
quote:

"This is turning out to be a tough decision, but as of now my heart is still with LSU," Gausman said. "There are still things for me to accomplish as a Tiger. I still want to play in and win the College World Series, and with a lot of guys coming back next year I believe we can do it."
Gausman and the Tigers barely missed out on a trip to the College World Series last season as LSU fell to Stony Brook in this year's NCAA Super Regional.
"I also believe I'll only continue to improve and become a more complete pitcher working with (LSU pitching coach Alan Dunn) Gausman said. "I have no problem at all going back to LSU. We'll see what happens."

a little wiggle room, though.
