Finally got rid of that nasally voiced yat. Between basketball and his post game show, a complete waste of air time.

A couple of shots here at Alleva, so the question begs: who would have been the one at LSU to fire him/who was his immediate boss?

After 28 years he deserves better notice than that if true.
30 years would have been retirement.

You would NEVER hear criticism. Dude is a ridiculous homer and not objective at all. He actually was talking about LSU in the playoffs in 2014 after the Ole Miss game.

Isn't this exactly what the LSU Athletic Department would be looking for? Good for Ponamsky for having his sucking up lead him to another job.

I have no respect for businesses that go "crazy ex high school girlfriend" on you. Human beings deserve closure, not "well...if I don't talk to him he'll get the point." So freaking immature.

Hard to say. There are 40 assistant AD's at LSU, all being paid pretty well I suspect. Hawthorne was an ASST AD so he would have been the one to make the call before. I have a feeling the new announcer is not at that level yet.

That said, Ford was terrible. Sucks to go out like that but he was really hard to listen to. Hopefully they freshen up the 'pre and post game shows'.

LSU Sports Properties. Technically separate from the athletic department. Ward Wyatt, General Mangager.

I am pretty sure none of the people that do LSU radio are full-timers besides Hawthorne, and now Blair....so I doubt any retirement was lost for any of the part-timers they have employed.

My favorite Kevin Ford moment is in 2003 or 2004 LSU was playing South Carolina and Ford and Hawthorne were chirping at each other because (it appears to me) they don't really like each other. Kevin Ford said something like I saw your wife last week, Jim. Jim responds, "WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?" Radio silence. So awkward. Ford just said, what do you mean, I saw her last week. Then they went on calling the game. So random.

Blair and Hanagriff for baseball would be ideal, IMO.

Sucks.

I'm gonna miss listening to ford give post game scores and replays.

Just another notch in the belt of changes LSU has made over past 5-6 years that have taken away little more of my interest.

I understand everything changes, but for fricks sake make the changes for the better.
The tailgating/parking situation has almost done me in.

Two things stand out to me from his Facebook post:

He made no mention of working with Jordy Hultberg; AND

How the hell did he land his job just after graduating high school?

Yeah, but would you expect anything else with how the LSU brand has handled everything else lately? Whether someone liked him or not, it's a huge pussy move to treat someone that gave almost three decades of his life to LSU like that. And he kissed LSU's arse and never seemed to focus on the negatives. His post is very classy considering...

Anyone remember that time a guy called in to the post-game show acting serious and then asked him if he thought Rohan Davey played better with his nuts hanging out? It gave me an unexpected laugh.
