Rankings don’t matter. I agree. Just take care of business. Seriously though when was the last time an SEC team won a road conference game and dropped out of the rankings? Call me a conspiracy theorist but I think this was done on purpose for two reasons. One to not give us a top 25 win if we do win and to give some motivation to Kentucky to pull off the upset.

Pretty sure they fell out because SCe sucks and had to go to OT to beat them.

It doesn’t make sense at all. Didn’t make sense that we dropped a spot after pummeling Texas A&M either but State drops 1 while getting punked at home to Alabama

They were on the road and an underdog.

I never understand why this is said. Literally, the entire college football system is based on this. It’s ridiculous and stupid, but they 100% matter. Clemson will count as a Top 25 win on our résumé. Again, it’s stupid, but these rankings matter. I’d much rather Kentucky be a so-called Top 25 team when we play them.

Because the Pitt coach went on TV and cried post game that they should be ranked because they squeaked by VT

nah, they fell out because the Pitt coach made his public statement and the voters were swayed.

Kentucky is just as much a top 25 team when we we are playing them as they were last week. I guess that’s what annoys me today about this because to the standard casual, decision makers with votes will discredit our win somewhat if we do win. It only hurts us that Kentucky got screwed out of their spot

Yep and if the SC QB didn't fumble a ball without being touched when possibly going in for a score to put the game away it don't get to OT.

And oh yeah, A&M sucks so that win is a bit tainted too.

I don't think the associated press around the country got together to create a conspiracy against LSU. What I do think is the associated press is a bunch of hacks and they individually make their poll to benefit their own personal agenda. This makes for a disingenuous poll that no one should give two fricks about

I can guarantee you that If it was UGA, Ole Miss, Alabama or Texas playing Kentucky this week you damn well better believe Kentucky would’ve still been ranked. They probably would’ve jumped up a couple spots actually.
