Just thought I'd do the new tradition of posting on the rant after every commitment. It'd be a shame to keep all the bickering to just a few threads on the first page.

I’m assuming this means we’re passing on a Charles Moore, Nakode Dean and Nathan Pickering. I was hoping to take advantage of MS talent this year.
For sure aren’t going after the 2 Uhigh LB’s now.
Interesting strategy by O. I thought after last year he said he wasn’t going to be more selective.
If they land: Sospher, Lee, Palmer, Parker, Harris, Starks and Emery or Cain it should be a top 5 class. Would be a great finish.

You don’t think it’s a red flag when we keep taking kids from Bama that Bama and Auburn didn’t pursue?
You willing to bet everything on how they preform at a camp one weekend?
O said he was going to be more selective. It’s still June we have 18 commits, 5 from LA, and most are lower ranked kids.
Can they be great players? Absolutely. Does their ranking determine how good they’ll be? Not at all.
But it’s a great barometer of talent. It’s been proven over and over again.
Maybe O knows something that Saban doesn’t. Or maybe O is repeating his previous mistakes...

I think he is wanting to get everyone on board that he wants, that isn’t planning to commit at a later date. That way, as the summer and then season progress...O can concentrate on the big dogs left on board. Just a hunch

We're playing with house money over there. How many times have you seen out of state schools come in and offer an LA kid that was borderline? Bama did it with Eddie Smith from LA last year. 3 star kid LSU wasn't sold on, Bama went in and offered knowing they aren't losing much if they piss off a few locals in Slidell.
If Aranda is signing off on these kids, that's good enough for me, but worst case you garner some interest from a bigger name or the kid has a bad senior year, you just tell them they aren't going to get the PT and they're better off looking around. The previous staff never seemed too interested in doing this but would watch it bite them in the arse waiting around to show interest in local kids like Etienne.
