Nah, there is always going to be that one kid that just wants to leave Louisiana, which is fine, as long as we get a suitable out of state player just as good, if not better!

Slade’s Dad Johnny has been coaching up at Zachary High School!

His dad Johnny Nagle played CB at LSU from ‘ 69 - ‘71.
A little trivia… Johnny was the starting CB opposite Tommy Casanova !

Kelly said he wanted to lock down the state and build the program through Louisiana. Well that includes his staff for recruiting. For as little as we dabbled into the portal his Coaching hires this offseason was A++.

If you go to City Cafe in BTR, you’ll see Johnny there. He and his crew like to hang out there. Great food. Get the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad, with the Warm Bacon Honey Mustard Dressing! Best onion rings in BTR!

I love the staff. I just hope Joe Sloan is ready for the big time when the lights come on

Kelly has brought in a number of OC’s over the years, at every stop. He knows what he wants to run. I think Sloan will do just fine.
Kind of like Nick replacing the DC position.

Sloan is a bit concerning to me. I know its Kelly's system but his boy Rees called a terrible play in ot for bama that costs them the game. if they beat michigan then they are at least favored over washington. so, rees play calling potentially costs them a national championship. in the clutch against the best teams is where i am worried about sloan.

also, i think focusing on coaches with la. ties has Frank Wilson's influence written all over it. BK came here with midwest and national recruiting ideas, see polian, denbrock, and the db coach from missouri.

I think Kelly has learned a lesson. The Louisiana people are passionate about lsu and you need to harness that in the transfer/nil era.
