Moore is Collin Simmons all over again. I believe the kids initially wanted to go to LSU but Texas knew they could and would outbid LSU. The families of both kids wanted them at Texas and stayed in their ear about it. The families and handlers were ALWAYS in it for the money. They ultimately convinced the kids of this.

We were never going to be high bidder for all of underwood, Stewart, Moore, Berry, and the db from Florida. When Stewart reclassified that could end up being 5 guys ranked in the top 10 for 25. This has never happened before and just can’t afford it. I suspect we don’t get the db that Miami is after but we end up with the other 3 which is great.

The point is other schools are offering far more money than lsu. In this case twice as much for a potential 2nd round pick. Not saying smith should have stayed or left, but there is NO way he should have been confident he would be a 2nd round pick. Therefore, he should have seriously considered a substantial ($ 1 million) offer if lsu had chosen to offer him that amount.

Does it matter if 1 guy is an athlete if he plays the position very well.

So you want BK to be paid $10 million and underwood to get nothing? nobody complained about money when bo davis got paid a record salary. nobody complained about money when texas and ou paid $100 million each to change conferences. now that its the players setting records everybody says the sky is falling.

Miss will lose his entire place after this season. It may weigh very heavily on his decision.

However much you have to pay to get into Harvard of MIT is worth it. comparing a full ride at alabama to those 2 schools is laughable. I know people who had a degree from schools such as university of texas with compensation packages of $1 million a year but only for a few years at the later portion of their careers. I know people that went to Harvard or Stanford that made over $1 million before age 45. Small sample size but my experience is Harvard degree is worth its no matter the costs. If a person has a reasonable chance of getting into Harvard they should not end up at alabama. If not Harvard or MIT level take Georgia tech every time.

i just don't see how we get Bussey. A&M was willing to outbid us for ricks. I don't see how the would let Bussey go without a record NIL offer. He would have to just want to be at LSU. Don't see us outbidding them at all.
