Let’s be realistic. This year sucks. I’m not completely convinced that BK is the absolute answer. Time will tell. And I’m not sure if there’s anyone available that I’d want right now. But he was handed a massive dumpster fire with a depleted roster. We can’t expect to go from what O left to a National Championship team in 2 years. It’s going to take a few more years of building before LSU gets back to staying a Top 5 team.

Kelly wasn’t given these garbage coaches on defense. He hired them.

Tackling, being out of postion, not staying in your rush lanes, leaving wide open uncovered is a coaching problem- Scheme is problem/ no adjustments. That is all coaching. If they dont understand it then its on the coaches.

No rational fan expected us to make a playoff run this early, with the roster he inherited it was totally unrealistic.

But what we did expect and what is realistic is for our defense to get better week over we week. And now we can't even honestly point to an individual player who has improved since week 1.

What he inherited doesn't mean a fricking thing if he can't make what he has better

House gets one more year. He’ll fire his scapegoats this year and CBK will fire (or simply not retain him) him next year if no improvement

Since Kelley took over, the offense performance, recruiting and future prospects have improved markedly and impressively. He gets credit for that.
On defense, just the opposite. He gets the blame.

100% agreed. Yes, there are coaching issues on defense; however, there are massive personnel issues as well. Both things can be true. Coach O left this team in shambles. I hate to say it, but it will take several recruiting cycles to fix it. This is reality, whether fans like it or not.

And I don't care how many down votes I get. More LSU fans need to be able to face reality.

We were fortunate that Kelly struck gold with Daniels and some of the other pickups on offense. Just imagine if we were also dealing with a dumpster fire on offense.

As frustrating and infuriating as it has been, we have to be patient.

Honestly I'm not so sure about recruiting improving "markedly" at all.

Take off your purple glasses and admit that O left a depleted and completely undisciplined roster when he left.

As much as I'd love to be impatient and hate on Kelly, when your team can just barely play a bowl game because you don't have enough players.......it's going to take a while to get back to the winning tradition we're use to.

Lsu gonna have to start getting into a bidding war with these other schools for elite defensive talent or another natty might be out the question if we don't start getting elite defensive talent. And if you think I'm wrong go look at the current top 5 teams defensive roster and rank(besides Washington lol)

I’m still super bullish on Kelly, never changed.

The teams we lost to are a combined 25-2, prob finish 33-3. We’ll be fine.

I understand the talent is lacking from what we are used to but what are the odds that we would simultaneously have the worst DB’s, LB’s, and line we have seen together in recent memory all on the field together
