Kelly “Our first true freshmen class is coming up…. we’re still building this thing”

Kelly was asked by reporters today about LSU’s success and progression, whether this was what he expected or is LSU ahead of schedule? Kelly credited current players for LSU’s success and for doing everything the coaches have asked, but noted there is a lot more building to do. Kelly considers this next class, his first true freshmen class, one which he has the time and opportunity to work and recruit a great class, explained how he didn’t have either last year.
Holy Smokes, Kelly is never satisfied, he envisions having much greater talent at LSU. He definitely is Sabanesque!

The man sat at Notre Dame for years and watched the SEC have its pick of the best athletes out there - mainly LSU and Alabama. Now he’s the head man at LSU and can get almost anyone he wants. He’s drooling over the potential he has now and wants it all. He’s hungry as hell and I say, “let ‘em have it”.

He had to scramble to put together last year's class, so the fact that we're still in contention for the SEC West is a big testament to BK and his coaching staff. With a full year to recruit, and without the restrictions he had at ND, who knows what he can do? Let's find out.

For better or for worse, I do believe that Brian Kelly would do ANYTHING for a national title. His ego is huge and he needs that trophy.
Not saying that is a bad thing whatsoever, but he left ND for one reason only.

Yeah, he won't say it, but BK knew he wasn't winning anything big at Notre Dame. That's why he's here. Competing against the SEC, but also with SEC resources at his disposal.

Not a knock on BK, but I was thinking 6 wins would be good considering LSU had, what 39-40 scholarship players in January? Players in/out portal, new coaches, new system, Brennan quits, lose to FSU? 6 wins was a pipe dream, right?
I guess BK and staff have exceeded expectations on the field, but season is still here, so 6, 7, 8, 9 wins?
Recruiting is also a concern, but hopeful.

Sure does seem that he is never satisfied, and while he can certainly chew some arse, he doesn't come across with the same curt personality that comes with Saban.

He'll hit the portal again to fill some needs to keep going, but the trajectory of our program hasn't looked this good in many, many years.
