The players want #7 and #18 and love the tradition. Your opinions on it mean absolutely shite.

Let's start a #9 tradition while we're at it too.

You have nothing but rumors to base this on. Of course he wants to get paid. Everyone else got paid, why shouldn't the #1 WR in college football be paid too?? Stupid.

Just told my 4 year old son the news, he almost fainted/shat himself after ranting about how the number has created a culture problem, and how it takes away the team element from the game.

When did he quit on the team? Did he tell you this? Is he not playing this upcoming season? I’d love to know your source on all this.

We have so much talent and it’s been wasting on coaching. I’m so ready to shock the world. LSU has the most NC’s in the last 25 years outside of one team. LSU has been the most consistent the past 20 years before covid. Everyone in todays society just remembers the past 2 seasons.

I like 18 more than 7. Voted on by the team and given to a leader. It's like LSU's cool twist on being captain.

7 is just the most talented guy and sometimes those guys aren't the most likeable guys.

Well shite. I guess that secures him underperforming/getting injured/opting out. That's the recent legacy of 7.

To those of you saying the #7 & #18 tradition needs to die, please STFU. The players love it and the #7 is a great recruiting tool. If you personally don’t care for it then ignore when the number is assigned to the player and let everyone else enjoy it.

WE remember the last 2 seasons more because WE know what LSU can be. The rest of college football knows the LSU brand means toughness, speed, pride and tradition. KB and BK know just how much potential there is too. I’m cool with the #7 going to him! Go be you KB!

is bigger than football. It’s about Leadership, Encouragement, Accountability, and Discipline. I had to grow into 7 to understand it already had the characteristics that I was striving for. To be chosen to wear this Legendary number is an honor. I’m excited, NOW THAT I HAVE BEEN PAID, to be back on the field with my brothers and go to work this season. To do it in Number 7 is a true blessing, following in the footsteps of some of the greatest players in LSU history. Greatness begins now
