As I read my 10th QB battle thread is the spring I got to thinking about the man who made this QB battle possible.

Kayshon fricking Boutte is the fricking man who drove our offense at the end of the season, and it’s almost completely indisputable.

Ole Miss

308 yards and 3 TDS vs Ole Miss. basically taking crossing routes the distance at will. 14/27 completions. 308/435 yards. Scored on 18, 32 and 45 yard receptions.

Florida

108 yards and a touchdown. That’s 108 out of 239 yards. 21.6 YPC. Over 25% of our total offense on 5 plays. Including a 45 reception on our last TD drive

Should this output ha e surprised anyone?

NO.

8 receptions and 111 yards vs Bama and that’s with that huge catch on the sideline called incomplete

The man was the engine that drove the offense and he literally didn’t get any real playing time till Marshall left.

This guy is going to break records while he’s here.

I think he did enough to earn #7 but at the same time please just give it to Stingley or ricks. #7 was made great in the secondary

The 7 tradition has been a curse of injury or non performance for years now.

All time LSU Great that wore #7 is Bert "The Ruston Rifle" Jones. (No relationship to Johnny Joneshoyang)

Bert later became a very good color man in the booth with John Ferguson (When Walter Hill was out) after his NFL career was over.

The Great Ole Days of LSU Football.

No BS annoying and irritating distractions.

No PIM. No CBR. No ringing bell. No IFLB before every GD kickoff.

RAW LSU football. It was just TGBFTL, Sid Crocker on PA and a lot of noise from start to finish from the crowd.

That's all we needed and wanted!

A pleasure to attend every game and stay until 00:00.....

This became a #7 thread by the third post.

Why can’t we have nice things?

Over 25%

Almost 50% of the passing offense at UF and over 50% of total offense vs Ole Miss! And with a 45 yd drop and Max missing him a couple of times he could have had 60-70 more yards. Nuts.

That is one LSU tradition even if it is a tradition that needs to end it is cursed since Patrick Peterson name one player that contributed anything after receiving number #7

And I’m sure if they did it was still a drop off from the previous season

Yeah, plus, I just love this mischievous, smirking picture of him they kept showing during the Ole Miss game:
It's like he's saying,"Yeah, I got something for you... don't you worry, you'll find out!"

Uhhh.... Tyrann Mathieu....Leonard Fournette. DJ Chark was our leading receiver in 2017. I'd say those 3 "contributed."

I really wish the number thing would go away. Seems like a curse on whoever is chose #7 or #18.

I'm expecting Kayshon to have a Jamar Chase kind of season in 2021. As last year he operated mainly from the X position, but this upcoming season, he will be operating from all of the various wide receiver positions to free him up and to also make it much harder for opposing defenses to defend against him.
