Kavell Bigby-Williams hype (basketball)

To say its a great class is an understatement, but let's not forget about the player who can single handedly bring the Deaf Dome back with 8th row blocks and explosive dunks.
Born: London
JUCO: Gillette, WY
Bigby-Williams transferred to Oregon where he was buried on a final four team depth chart so he transferred to LSU when we got Wade.
You can see him on the end of the bench when you go to the games. He practices with the team now...maybe why Reath has improved so much?
Think Tyrus Thomas, but bigger.

His JUCO stats were crazy, averaged like 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks a game.

Yeah, he's as close to Thomas that LSU will have had since Thomas. Mickey was a GREAT shot blocker and very good rebounder, but he didn't have the size or explosion of Williams (though Mickey was still probably a slightly better shot blocker).
We saw what a rim protector can do with Mickey. And that was on a team, with a coach, who couldn't have cared less about playing defense. Mickey gave LSU a shot just by being able to alter so many shots in the paint. Williams can do the same thing and he will be doing on a team with a coach who demands everyone defend.
BTW -- you also just added a smaller and maybe even more athletic version of him in Emmitt Williams
It will be fun to watch Waters work with Ried and Bigby-Williams on the pick-and-roll. Wade said it would take 3 years to get the program up and running how he wants it. That's fine, but NEXT year is the time to explode onto the scene. All the pieces are in place

rim protector and rebounder. Tyrus Thomas was one of the best athletes to ever play in the PMAC. He doesn't have that type of athletic ability, but he will protect the rim.
